Great role for and peformance by Michael Douglas. Evan Rachel Wood is charming & earns our respect and understanding here, especially by those of us that have lived with (and love) a parent with bi-polar disease. A cleverly written tale that tells of the importance of support & love and faith in ourselves and those we love even at times, when against all odds or reasoning. It's story is of a quest - his quest was for gold which is found in the love and faith of his daughter for him. These are the things of the real treasures in life and shows us all how rich we are or can be. Big amen to that.

This movie is not a comedy. It is a Drama. I really wish that some of these supposed comedies would be labled correctly. When my husband asked for this movie and I read the write up I thought they could make that story funny. However, it isn't. It is a drama. There is no comedere or laughter; there is only strain and pain. Not a fun loving, laughable comedy.

I loved it. I thought Michael Douglas was great in this role. I think some of the other reviewers took it too seriously. It is far fetched but that's what makes it good. Very well acted.
