For a technologically impaired movie, by todays standards, it was ok. The plot is simple and accurate for it's timeframe. It can grab your attention and hold it for the entire movie. Sissy Spacek plays innocence very well, even with nudity.

I wasn't totally blown away, but what do you really expect from a movie that was made in the early 1970's? I wasn't sure exactly what the issues were between Gene Hackman and Lee Marvin's characters, but there was enough action in this movie to keep me interested through the end. There was more nudity in this movie than I expected since it was made in '72, but I'm a guy and that's obvioulsy A-OK with me. In my opinion, Sissy Spacek looks about as beautiful in this movie as I've ever seen her.

Interesting early teaming of the meat industry with human trafficking, both as problematic today as they were when this film was produced. It does not present nor does it need the wild women mentioned in the synopsis, and the nudity is not as exploitative as in later films. Amazingly subtle for being almost 40 years old; hard to go wrong with Ritchie, Marvin and Hackman.
