I rented this movie because I saw the movie "Alone With Her" and wanted to see more of Ana Claudia Talancon so I rented this flick. If you have ever been a musician trying to make it, this movie nails the process and on that point this was a good movie. You got a guy who comes from Mexico, how he spoke english so well seems a bit far fetched, comes to America to stake his claim in the music business. Along the way to stardom he does run into issues, which all musicians do, but at the end he is successful. This is the american dream and when you watch this flick, that's what you see, the pursuit of the american dream. I rented this movie to see Ana and came out mixed on her performance. I just felt that Ana's part in this movie did not influence the movie as it should have. So, overall, I really enjoyed Sueno and was glad that I took the chance and rented it.

Was it a great movie? No. Was it a terrible movie? again, no. It was a sweet love story centered on a young musician looking to make it in America, from his native Mexican home. It had an inspiring message and was tender in different areas of emotions we all go through. I thought John L. was a bit too old for this role, (and that wig was just awful) however I liked his "realness" and range of acting, not like a puffed up super star. He blends into his characters and enriches their roles. I liked that the women in this movie were respected and truly loved and adored by the men. And it gave the message of hope. Which we could all use in times like this.

ok, you have one that did not like and one (me) who does. I think I am going to add it to my collection. It's not one of john's greatest movies but I thought he was kinda sexy in the dancing and band scenes. I liked the fact he made a women feel alive again. I like spanish music and I will have to find the soundtrack to this one it has a very special song I just adore "Besame Mucho." Some will like and some won't, that is the chance you have to take.
