A direct rip off of the usual suspects with all the crappy bollywood masala....though not as entertaining as the original movie. You can live without it.
I have no problem with movie remakes - especially when they are adapted to fit in with the style of the country where they are made, as this one did. The actor that plays the "Verbal" character is probably the best portrayal in this film. Anil Kapoor's character was so cocky as to be really annoying - until I remembered that the police investigator in "The Usual Suspects" repeatedly told Verbal that he was smarter than Verbal. Americans understand this was simply an intimidation tactic - but to a foreigner, it may have just looked like the smugness this lawyer is portraying. Sort of "The Usual Suspects" as seen from a foreign perspective, and then remade for Bollywood. (Tip for new Bollywood movie renters - fast forward thru previews since you can't skip them, or go make a cup of tea, and always start the film by selecting Chapter 1. Otherwise you're forced into a rice or Western Union commercial.)
We found nothing entertaining about this film, and finally ejected it after about 10-15 minutes.
It got off on the wrong foot by not even being able to skip the awful previews, etc. - That was really annoying!
