Derek Yee's one of my favorite director, most of his movies are drama with interesting characters and relationship, but this time he made a romantic comedy. It was pretty fun 'til half of the film, then he's back to his old self. All of his movies are like soul-food to me, including this one. So don't be fooled by the silly title, this one's a good romantic comedy. And don't forget to check out all of his previous movies...
Miriam Yeung and Daniel Wu star in this movie by director Tung Shing Yee. Although largely formulaic, there are still a number of classically funny scenes, some of which involve alcohol. All in all, there are enough laughs here to keep anyone entertained.
What kind of concoction do you end up with when you combine Miriam Yeung, Daniel Wu and massive product placement ? That's right, a disappointing movie. For a romantic comedy, it's neither romantic or funny. And no, the girl on the DVD cover is not in the movie. Although, Ella Koon, in all her hotness, does have a minor role. Despite Miriam Yeung spending less time on movies, her films don't appear to be getting any better. In fact, this movie is only slightly better than "My Lucky Star". And whenever Daniel Wu was onscreen, his character managed to sedate everyone around him. The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio option made minor use of surround sound. As for extras, there's a "Making of Featurette" (14:18 min) that is subtitled in English, an "Outtakes NG" feature (2:01 min) that is not subtitled in English, a "Deleted Scenes" feature (6:05 min) that is subtitled in English, a trailer for the movie and trailers for nine other movies. Not recommended, even for Miriam Yeung fans.
