Mai Tokiha has been accepted to the prestigious Fuuka Academy, along with her brother, but before they even walk in the door, they witness two young women battling with what appear to be supernatural powers. These are the powers of the HiME (Highly Advanced Materializing Equipment) and it appears that Mai has them as well. Those who wield them are free to use them however they choose but with one condition: they must put the most important thing in the world to them on the line.
