I found this movie to be well...truthfully frightful. It brought me close to the reality that people who are or seem to be kind and good can slowly become corrupted and evil. It showed that not all that seems good, is. Humans tend to see and trust the good nature of people, but at what cost to others. It absolutely is a riveting true story. Gruesome at times without over doing it to show the ferocity of a human in power.

Very well done and gripping to watch. The power plays in Africa are truly gruesome, Rwanda and others to follow this episode. Something good to know is that the doctor character (McAvoy) is an amalgam of persons (white) surrounding the crazy dictator. He seems too young though. Whitaker was off-the-chart good in his role. It's worth watching the extra materials on the DVD to know what was true and what was fictionalized. Would like to have seen/known in an epilogue why the Saudi Arabians kept him around into the 21st century.
