The General Lee is back and so are the Duke boys in this big-screen adaptation of the hit TV series, brought to you by Jay Chandrasekhar of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe. Set in the "present day," the story follows Bo (Seann William Scott) and Luke (Johnny Knoxville) as they cruise around Hazzard County and wreck havoc in their classic 1969 Dodge Charger. Together with their scantily clad cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson) and moonshining Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), the two good old boys battle the corrupt county commissioner Boss Hog (Burt Reynolds) when he and local Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane (M.C. Gainey) threaten to take away the family farm. if you look back at the tv show every character was unique.boss hogg was funny but corrupt.rosco was naive tagalong with a funny studder.enos was innocent as they come but also very dumb.luke was the brains of the dukes.daisy was hot southern bell.bo was prolly the better looking duke boy with tight jeans.uncle jesse is the role model.in the movie all the characters are their own.rosco is corrupt and serious.jesse just tells dirty jokes.hogg is also seriously just corrupt.bo and luke are both dumb.daisy is not a southern bell.this movie doesnt have the values and morals that made the show unique.i have to say seann william scott saved the movie.he was the only one that made me laugh.knoxville butchered his role.now the chases in the city did involve some of the best shots i have ever seen in a car chase.the story is very basic but the show was never about the story either.it was alright.

I'd rather have seen the PG-13 rated version than the unrated. I'm not crazy about seeing nudity in movies. I wouldn't recommend the unrated version at all.

having never seen the original show, i thought that this movie was good. knoxville and sean william scott are a hilarious couple, and jessica Simpson is super hot. the story line was simple enough, and the characters were funny. the way the story was told through a narrator was pretty cool and added to the story, and really helped characterize the characters. the only part of this movie that i found stupid was the scene in the college lab. it just seamed too unrealistic.
