But then, maybe that is what makes this a great film. I will not try and explain the plot as it is too intricate to summarize. This movie is a sleeper hit incorporating despair, tendernes, comedy, romance, and violence that will leave you guessing what happened at the end. Definitely worthy of two and even three watchings in order to absorb the richness of the plot and characters. Not alot of action, horror, or sex so if that is what you are looking for, keep looking. A must see for anyone who loves a good drama.

Brought together following tragedy, Kenji (Tadanobu Asano), and Noi (Sinitta Boonyasak) find themselves in an improbable, albeit interesting relationship in Bangkok. Kenji is fastidiously neat, but a suicidal, nerdy man from Japan who is living in Bangkok, whereas Noi is an upbeat, pretty, albeit slovenly young woman with sights on moving to Osaka. The movie is by and large an examination of the association that develops when he moves into her house. Despite their recent tragedies, the audience sees a refreshingly innocent bond develop between them. This is a very good film, even though Asian films in general do not enjoy, or perhaps are not burdened by, the large budgets of Hollywood films.
