It would have been better with some editing. After Everett's character makes his move, we pretty much know where this one is going. It just takea a little too long to get there. Sharon Stone looks great in the early part of the film, and turns in a wonderful performance. With all the nastiness in the world, the Cold War seems quaint now. Funny.

Fascinating film drawn from famous double agent, Kim Philby's wife's memoir. Leo Cauffield is Kim Philby--famous defector to Soviet Russia in 1963. His American wife, Eleanor wrote a memoir, _The Spy I Loved_, which parallels this film. History buffs will appreciate this film. Stone turns in a distinctive performance, proving she's a good character actor!

Glacial pacing. Sharon Stone phoned it in. There is not much plot at all. Over half the movie is spent on this searing question: will he leave Russia or will she stay in Moscow? By the end of the film, the viewer is too bored to care.
