I don't know why other people disliked this movie.I thought it was very smart.I loved how the picture got clearer as Sophie came closer to the truth. If you did not understand this movie,I strongly suggest you listen to the commentary. It will help you understand the art of the movie.

List all reviews and read the review by "Ruben V." to better understand this movie -BEFORE you watch it. I got half way through the movie and gave up on it because it seemed so pointless. Then, I came here to right a review. It seemed like most people felt like I did at the time (half star), then I skimmed the reviews and saw one that rated it much higher -Ruben V. I read it, then went back to watch the movie and it made much more sense. Now, I'm glad I did and glad I finished. It comes together in the end... have patience. It's not too bad once it makes sense.

Very enjoyable, however it does require two viewings to catch certain images that are somewhat critical in what the movie is describing(the emotions of ones own death).
