Member Rating:
Following up their breakthrough film, 2001's Super Troopers, the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, comprised of Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske, took aim at the horror genre and delivered Club Dread. Starring the five members of the troupe along with Bill Paxton, the film is set at an anything-goes tropical resort for swingers. When a psychotic killer starts offing the guests with a razor sharp machete, it's up to the staff to hide the carnage, lest they lose the business of the unsuspecting surviving guests. As with Super Troopers and the first Broken Lizard film Puddle Cruiser, Chandrasekhar directs. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

This movie was very funny. Maybe as funny as super troppers. Would recommend seeing it!

Wow, thanks to the directors of Super Troopers for bringing us 45 minutes of hilarity followed by 60 minutes of crap. I was thoroughly tickled by the opening of the movie and its first half, laughing as hard as I did watching Super Troopers for the first time. I had heard that Club Dread wasn't as good as its predecessor, and initially I was labeling those people as quacks, but I quickly came into agreement as the last half of the movie really lacks any creativity and departs from its random humor. Is it slapstick, is it farce, is it slapfarce? I dunno, but it stunk. On the whole, the first part of the movie, combined by the choice T&A, make it worth a rental, but I'd suggest at least two drinks to make it through the end of this one.

OK, I get that this movie is a comedy. But it really is boring. And horribly acted. It's just a bad movie that attempts to make fun of itself.. but it's so bad that you start yawning while watching it. The blonde girl is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but this movie is possibly the worst we've seen this year. And we like "bad" movies. This movie was just a bore, and just stupid. It was too moronic. And what the HELL is Bill Paxton doing staring in this thing??????? What was he thinking? How was this movie made? Why.. these questions are more worth pondering than actually watching this movie.
