We love this genre and this story in particular (both movie and book). This version was so bad that we didn't get past the first 2 minutes. The acting was stilted and ridiculous. There was no way we could have stayed with it any longer.

it takes a little getting into and is a little slow at times particularly the beginning. however, i liked that i was able to see much more of the character development and dimensions. you can also see how some of the characters in the recent hollywood version acted their part similarly, i.e. gweneth paltrow.
