Director Bob Misiorowski helmed this straight-to-video actioner starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Van Damme plays Jacques Kristoff, a special government agent assigned to protect Dr. Galina Konstantin, a scientist played by Laura Elena Harring (Mulholland Drive). When a group of terrorists hijack the train they're riding and demand to see Konstantin, it's up to Kristoff to defeat the bad guys before they get their hands on the biological weapons the doctor has with him. Would be nice if I had received the Van Damme "Derailed" instead of the Jennifer Anniston "Derailed."

Would love to write a review, however, Blockbusters warehouse sent the wrong Derailed movie in the envelope I received. They sent the one with Clive Owens, not Jean-Claude Van Damme! :O( It appears only William T. recv'd the correct movie that was asked for!

"Derailed" was recommended by a friend as a great thriller. The "Derailed" I should have rented stars Jennifer Anniston and Clive Owens. That one IS a great thriller. There was very little that was realistic in this turkey. JC tried to make a cold war thriller but he must not have gotten the memo that the cold war ended 20 years ago. This would have been a little more believable if they had set it in the 70's or 80's. Maybe I totally missed what happened when two trains crossed paths but what I saw in the film was a complete fantasy.
