In the conclusion of the six-part story "The Time Monster," those eternal enemies the Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and The Master (Roger Delgado) are forced to rely upon each other to survive the rampaging "time-eater" Kronos the Kronavore. In a final showdown, the two TARDISes owned by the rival Time Lords are trapped in a nebulous void with the triumphant Kronos determining the fate of all concerned. Whether or not the story ends happily is entirely in the eye of the beholder.
