Te Csak Pipalj, Ladanyi (1938)
The title of this Hungarian comedy translates as Smoke Your Pipe, Ladanyi. Kalman Rozehghi plays the title character, a country squire who enjoys nothing more in life than puffing away on his pipe and entertaining his friends. After one lavish party too many, Ladanyi finds that his bank account has been depleted. He tries to find regular work, but isn't qualified for anything other than sitting around and smoking. Ladanyi's wife and daughter save the day by transforming the family estate into a boarding house, which attracts scores of clients who get a kick out of Ladanyi's hearty company (no "Smoke Free Zone" in this house!)
