Synopsis of Cuando Estallo La Paz

Novice director Julio Diamante was just a few years out of film school when he made this satirical look at Spain during the early decades of the 20th century. The setting is a small Iberian town that is divided between the people who support the French during World War I, and those who support the Germans. This sharp division turns everything upside down as enemies are created that never existed before and others profit from the dissention.
