Blacks have made progress but still have along way to go. Unfortunately, the predjudice is still there. We should be thankful and never forget where we've come from. In the meantine, continue to fight for our freedom. Freedom is not free but a responsibility to manitain.

This movie really dipicted the treatment of blacks in the south during the de-segregation of blacks and whites. The movie is a decent portrayal of the struggles these citizens went through to gain their rights to vote, a decent education, the right to sit at a counter with whites and order a cup of coffee and so much more. It is difficult to watch how whites treated them and this was less than 50 years ago. This is a must watch movie that everyone should see.

This is a compelling film, powerfully told from the perspective of the young man growing up in violent times.
