Straight from the Streets chronicles some of the milestones that faced the African-American community during the early '90s, beginning with the Los Angeles riots of 1992 and concluding with the Million Man March of 1995; however, the focus of the film is not so much on the events themselves, but the profound impact they had throughout modern black America, particularly in the inner cities. Among the speakers include actor Denzel Washington and civil rights activist Louis Farrakhan, while Snoop Doggy Dogg, Ice T, Ice Cube, and Kurupt appear in several rarely seen performances. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide
