This is one of my all time favorite movies. The script for Newman and Balin was dorky for sure, but the love story made up for it. Best part of the movie? Ina Balin's performance. I fell in love with her nearly 50 years ago. So sad that she died 20 years ago. An absolute beauty! And the soundtrack- outstanding, moving music. Just be prepared for a long movie at 244 minutes.

Fine performances from all, particularly Paul Newman. The film explores whether the pursuit of money alone can bring happiness. It's also an excellent example of the changes in the hero role that occurred in the early 60's. For film buffs, this is a must watch!

A classic. Worth watching again. Story line has twists you don't expect. And of course Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are great in any movie!
