A top London cop who is so good at his job that he makes his fellow officers look like slackers by comparison is "promoted" to serve in the sleepy village of Sandford in this contemporary action comedy from the creators of Shaun of the Dead. Police constable Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) always gets his man, but these days his impeccable record seems to be more indicative of his fellow officers' shortcomings than his own formidable skills as a keeper of the peace. Loathe to stand idly by as their once respectable track record is steadily soiled by the hyper-competent actions of one lone overachiever, Sergeant Angel's superiors at the Met soon determine to remedy their problem by relocating the decorated constable to the West Country village of Sanford -- where tranquil garden parties and neighborhood watch meetings stand in stark contrast to the violent crime and heated gunplay of the city. As Sergeant Angel does his best to adjust to the relative calm of his new environment, his oafish new partner Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) strives to gain the respect of his fellow constables while sustaining himself on fantasies of his favorite action films and police shows. Later, just as it begins to appear as if Sergeant Angel has been relegated to an uneventful existence in the relative calm of the countryside, a series of horrific "accidents" lead him to suspect that the tranquil hamlet of Sanford has fallen prey to a sinister plot which reeks of foul play. Many married couples have secrets, but one pair of lovebirds discover they've both been living dangerous secret lives in this action thriller laced with comedy. Both wish for more excitement in their relationship, but as it happens, each of them is finding plenty of thrills elsewhere. Both Jane and John are world-class assassins who will take on perilous missions for the right price, but neither is aware of the other's secret life - Jane thinks her husband runs a successful construction company, and John believes his wife works on Wall Street. However, when John and Jane are both assigned to take out the same target, one Benjamin Danz (Adam Brody), they become aware of each other's secret lives, and suddenly both their careers and their marriage go through some dramatic and potentially deadly changes. Aside from his immersion into the struggles and triumphs of the UT cheerleading squad (Monica Keena, Kelli Garner, Christina Milian, Paula Garces, and Vanessa Ferlito), Roland finds himself dealing with a strong attraction to college professor Molly McCarthy (Anne Archer). This fourth installment in the Kekko-Kamen live-action movie series delivers more raunchy humor and over-the-top violence. The series Kekko Kamen began life as a manga and presented a kind of twistedly version of a Magical Girl; , the superheroine Kekko Kamen fightes her battles almost completely in the nude, save an everpresent mask that conceals her lay identity. The original manga opened in a dystopian high school, with the eponymous character rescuing a young girl from the abusive administration. Kekko Kamen Surprise, one of numerous animated adaptations of the manga, repeats the basic formula with slight variations in the story, the most noteworthy of which are several rock-n-roll musical numbers performed by the title character. In Kekko Kamen Surprise, Kekko journeys to a musical academy called "Mangriffon," concealed on a secret island, where she must once again save Mayumi from the hellish pitfalls of a tyrannous classroom. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

A man decides to prove himself by learning to fight in this independent comedy drama. Joseph Rex (Roy Jahangard) is an introverted middle-aged businessman who is going through a midlife crisis and needs to lose some weight. Joseph has become the frequent butt of jokes from a self-consciously macho co-worker Paul (Owen McKibben), and one day Joseph allows himself to get talked into entering an amateur boxing tournament to prove to Paul he can go the distance. Joseph knows he's in no shape to go into the ring, so he hires Jake (Adam Guertin) to train him, only to discover Jake doesn't have much practical knowledge of the fight game. Still, with the encouragement of his best friend Frank (Stephen Sepher), whose romantic problems have sent him into a midlife crisis of his own, Joseph drops thirty pounds in sixty days, and begin to look like he might just make it through the tournament after all. The first feature film for Roy Jahangard and Stephen Sepher -- who respectively wrote and directed the film as well as playing two of the leading roles -- One More Round also features supporting appearances from Udo Kier and Patrick Cranshaw. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

The work of international superstar Stephen Chow, Kung Fu Hustle is a humorous, special-effects-filled, action-packed martial arts epic set in early '40s China. A bumbling thief named Sing (Stephen Chow) desires to be the toughest member of the dreaded gangster hit squad known as The Axe Gang, but to completely join the gang he has to commit murder. When Sing attempts to rob a crowded run-down apartment complex known as Pig Sty Alley, the locals begin to defend themselves with some high-flying kung fu skills, and a tiny war erupts between the local masters and the axe-wielding gang. After the gang busts the ancient kung fu king known as The Beast (Leung Siu Lung) out of jail, tensions reach a boiling point as Pig Sty Alley's landlady (Yuen Qiu) leads an all-out attack against the gang and Sing discovers his true heroic fate. Four twentysomething friends find out too late that their theory about love blooming in extreme circumstances may have one fatal flaw in director Lorena David's romantic action comedy. When a random accident on the ski slope results in romance for one of the four close-knit friends, his lovelorn pals soon conclude that it was the stress of the event that helped to cement the instantaneous bond between the pair. Soon convinced that the surefire way to find love is to plan a series of risky dates in which chaos is the key ingredient, the four friends find their plan coming frustratingly close to fruition before cooking up an elaborate kidnapping ruse that's sure to result in true love. The only problem with the plan is that the "kidnappers" that the friends have hired are actually a pair of ex-cons with a devious plan all their own.
