Set during the turbulent end of Japan's Edo Period, Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi lets gamers take control of six different ancient warriors as they battle hordes of foes in classic 3D combat. Players can alter the course of history in the Shinsegumi Chronicle mode, or relive action and cut scenes from Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom in the Shinsengumi Memorial mode. The Skirmish mode unlocks two more playable characters and lets gamers replay any of the stages they've already completed in order to level up and increase their top scores. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
