When a master thief is betrayed by his partners during one last daring heist, he vows revenge in this action feature from actor-turned-director Michel Qissi. Marcos DeSantos (world martial arts champion Hector Echavarria) has tired of his life of crime, but when partners Cole and Bianca propose one last heist that could fund his retirement, Marcos reluctantly agrees to participate in the crime. By the time Marcos realizes that the team's target is the famed Sacred Seal of Mongolia, it's too late to turn back, and before he knows it Marcos and Cole are holding the Mongolian President's fearsome bodyguard Kong Li at gunpoint. When Cole turns the gun on his old partner and unloads two slugs into Marcos' chest, Marcos makes an unexpected recovery and teams with Kong Li to take Cole and Bianca down. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This sequel to the popular Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle centers on the exploits of David Sloan (Sasha Mitchell) the younger brother of the two fighters (Van Damme and Dennis Alexio) who died in the first installment. As this episode begins, David has given up competition and is running a kickboxing school for underprivileged urban kids. His life changes abruptly when the villainous fight manager who murdered his brother shows up and forces him back into the ring. Fortunately, David's Zen master shows up for spiritual and moral support. The ensuing fight scenes are quite bloody and violent. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his starring debut in the aptly titled Bloodsport. An American soldier at large in Hong Kong, Van Damme becomes involved in the Kumite (also spelled Kumatai), a highly illegal kickboxing competition. Whoever survives the bout will be crowned Kumite champion of the world-a title that has plenty of challengers with homicide in their hearts. The finale offers a duel to the death (or near-death) between Van Damme and reigning Kumite king Bolo Yeung. The script is based on the real-life exploits of martial arts champ Frank Dux (who serves as the film's fight coordinator). Denied such niceties as production values, Bloodsport scores big-time in the violent action department. A sequel followed in 1995, inventively titled Bloodsport 2. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
