A masked killer has gunned down the owner and editor of a famous political magazine in the print magnate's own home, but who would have the motivation to commit such a high-profile crime? As the police begin the dogged task of interviewing potential suspects and witnesses, they soon discover that everyone from the victim's lover to his brother seems to have his or her own take on the events. The more information the police get, the more tangled the web of intrigue gets -- leading to a tense, pulse-pounding climax that rivals that of even master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock! ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

An artist whose eyesight was damaged by the ruling despotic regime finds his sons torn in two opposing directions by the powers that be in Haute Tension director Alexandre Aja's ambitious feature debut. In the future, a dictatorial government has banished any and all political opposition by relentlessly silencing anyone who would dare to contradict them. Of course in a world where open debate is a crime punishable by death, art and music have been almost completely eradicated. Aaron (Pierre Vaneck) is a bartender who made his living as an artist. When government drones caught him painting, Aaron was forced to endure an operation that left him with the ability to see only in monochrome. Politically, Aaron's sons Theo (Stanislas Merar) and Laurence (Wadek Stanczak) couldn't be more different. While Laurence has devoted his entire life to enforcing the government line, Theo follows in his father's defiant footsteps by relentlessly painting every public surface he can find. When Theo hits the streets with like-minded rebel Elia (Marion Cottillard) and gradually begins falling in love with the graffiti-painting beauty, the stage is set for a troubling clash with the authoritarian powers that be. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

In this comedy, the spoiled daughter (Andrea del Boca) of this outwardly respectable Argentine family has a problem. To quote her outraged father (Luis Brandoni), "she's inflated," "she has a cake in the oven." Though she has had many suitors and boyfriends, she has no idea who got her pregnant. What follows is a frantic effort from everyone in the family (including the girl) to get her married off before her pregnancy becomes too obvious. If a respectable, rich suitor won't come forward, maybe the impoverished young man who claims to be a "psycho-anarchist" will do. Some one surely will take the bait they're putting out... ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

In this Argentine comedy-drama, a lonely, aging and never-married woman lives all alone in her late father's musty mansion. One day she calls a plumber to fix a toilet. He is a bungler and nearly destroys her home, all the while making rather vulgar passes at her. She finds a certain charm in the braggadocio boob, and so when he tells her that he is going to enter a bicycle race, she offers to support his training. She then buys him a bike and lets him work out in her house. Things are well until a low-life buddy suggests that he sleep with the judge's wife to ensure a win. The young man tries, but simply cannot go through with the seduction. Unfortunately, the spinster, who returns home and finds them, doesn't know this and jealously gives him the boot. He then suffers more humiliation when he loses the race and slowly wobbles into the finish line. Fortunately, the forgiving woman is there to cheer him on. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

In a puzzler of a drama set in 1978 with no visible story to tell, a journalist (Luis Brandoni) is perturbed when a neighbor knocks on his door to tell him that there are some strange men parked in a car across the street -- they seem to be watching the apartment building. The journalist tries to find out why the men are there, and although it has nothing to do with him, he panics. He packs a bag, takes off, cannot find any safe place to stay (one couple refuse to help him), and eventually decides to take a train out of town. Nothing much happens after that except a big question mark. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

In a sudsy rendition of the melodramatic turmoil of a doctor's personal life, this routine story focuses on the good doctor -- Carlos Ventura (Luis Brandoni) and his principle patient, a young man hit by a car and so badly hurt that the other doctors gave him up for dead. Ventura pours his knowledge and skill into saving the young man, partly as a means of forgetting the fact that his wife has just left him and that his son thinks he is a cold fish. Needless to say, the young patient miraculously works his way back into reasonable health after several months -- but can that do anything for the doctor's problems on the home front? ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

La Gran Ruta is the PanAmerican Highway, and in this Argentine sex farce, that is where one goes for a few hours' sexual diversion. It seems there are a lot of motels on the highway which cater to this need. In this comedy, a local politician has decided to take the beautiful blonde he hired to be his secretary to one of these motels. Vilma (Mimi Pons) doesn't appear to be useful in the office, but perhaps she will be entertaining in bed. None of the motel guests counted on a crew of hold-up men trying to rob them, however. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
