Degrassi: The Next Generation headliner Miriam McDonald takes the lead for this installment of the Poison Ivy series concerning a college freshman who joins a secret society of ambitious, ruthless temptresses. Danielle "Daisy" Brooks hasn't even been at Berkshire college for a week, and she's already making a big impression; not only has the dean's son taken notice of the beautiful college freshman, but she's also managed to land a lucrative scholarship in addition to receiving an invitation to join an exclusive campus society known as The Ivies. At first the former country girl assumes that The Ivies are something akin to a sorority, though it isn't long before she starts to get wind of their true nature. The Ivies are a power-hungry group of sirens who aren't above using blackmail and seduction to get what they want - and they aren't above turning on one of their own. Once you've joined their ranks, getting out of The Ivies can really be murder. The Crimes of Stephen Hawke opens at a BBC radio studio, where a variety program is being broadcast. After the singing duo of Flotsam and Jetsom and a comic butcher perform, Tod Slaughter appears as himself to perform a radio play about Stephen Hawkes. Hawkes is, to all appearances, a model of kindliness and decorum. A money-lender, he is compassionate and caring toward his clients, and extremely attentive to his lovely daughter, Julia, whose beauty and innocence make her attractive to many suitors. But Hawkes is not all that he appears. In his guise as he Spine Breaker, he is a merciless and notorious murderer, viciously killing his victims in a gory and painful manner. Aided by his assistant, a strange hunchback, the first killing the audience sees involves an obnoxious but otherwise undeserving child. Slaughter tracks down one of the men who killed his parents but is unable to exact revenge upon them; however, he does discover that one of the outlaws. Jack Pickett (Gary Busey) is now the mayor of the town of Ghost Rock and is using his political power to rob his constituents for all their worth. Determined to seek a greater justice than mere personal revenge, Slaughter joins forces with a small band of do-gooders to end Pickett's stranglehold over the town once and for all. A soldier comes out of retirement to confront a former friend who betrayed his loyalties in this action thriller. Casey Sheppard (Michael Worth) and Frank Ratliff (Damian Chapa) were once members of an elite Navy SEALs squadron; while close friends, Sheppard is a disciplined, by-the-book warrior, while Ratliff has an emotional hair trigger and a strong reckless streak. One night, Ratliff snaps and after a violent incident he disappears, eventually surfacing as a rogue agent for hire; the shock of the incident causes Sheppard to leave the Navy. Years later, it's discovered that Ratliff has joined the payroll of an international terrorist network after he kidnaps Dr. Jane Burrows (Kate Connor), a renowned nuclear physicist who has been working with U.S. defense projects. Ratliff is demanding a billion dollars for Burrows' safe return, but while she's in his custody, Ratliff forces Burrows to create nuclear warheads to arm several missiles he's purchased on the black market. As Ratliff plays both sides against one other in a bid for untold wealth and power, Sheppard is persuaded to come out of retirement to rescue Burrows and bring Ratliff to justice. However, Sheppard discovers that Ratliff's base of operations is a former Russian missile base that's also the site of a methane gas leak; the use of guns or bombs could cause the entire compound to explode, so Sheppard assembles a team skilled in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat, including Kamiko (Karen Kim), Sheppard's former love whose father and twin sister were brutally murdered by Ratliff.
