HBO's newest adult drama series explores issues of intimacy - through the point of view of a 20-something couple, prenumpital concerns and fidelity are examined, while the series' 30-something couple confront their failed attempts to start a family, coping with the effects it has on their sex life. And after two kids and 12 years of marriage, a couple in their early 40s question why their love and devotion hasn't translated into physical intimacy in nearly a year. Tell Me You Love Me explores the telling, everyday moments that can make or break a couple's commitment to one another, both emotionally and physically.

Happy, Texas is a fish-out-of-water comedy about two con men who escape from prison, then pose as gay lovers to hide out in a small Texas town. Mistaken for consultants to the Little Miss Fresh Squeezed Beauty Pageant, Harry (Jeremy Northam) and Wayne (Steve Zahn) go along with the ruse so they can stake out the local bank, owned by Josephine "Joe" McClintock (Ally Walker). The story kicks into high gear as Harry starts falling in love with Joe but cannot let on about his feelings. Also complicating matters is that gay Sheriff Dent (William H. Macy) has the hots for Harry, and Harry must pretend he's interested to keep the cops off his back. Meanwhile, Wayne is getting in touch with his feminine side as he tries his best to teach dance steps and flaming baton twirling to the little girls; he's also lusting after the girls' teacher, Ms. Schaefer (Ileana Douglas). Everything leads up to the big beauty pageant, where the cops are finally on Harry and Wayne's tail. First-time director Mark Illsley received wide media attention for this commercial piece, which sold to Miramax after a very public and intense bidding war. Steve Zahn's performance won him a special acting award at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival, where the film premiered in dramatic competition . ~ Arthur Borman, All Movie Guide

Season Two of the quasi-paranormal crime drama Profiler begins with the resolution of the Season One cliffhanger, as psychic forensic specialist Sam Waters (Ally Walker) takes charge of the Violent Criminal Task Force while supervisor Bailey Malone (Robert Davi) hovers between life and death in a hospital bed. Having quit the VCTF at the end of the previous season, John Grant (Julian McMahon) comes back to provide Sam with moral support; at the same time, another team member, Brubaker (played during Season One by Michael Whaley) has departed without explanation. Also, Bailey's rebellious daughter Frances (Heather McComb), who is essentially responsible for her father's plight, is now a fugitive from justice. Later on, Frances will return, intending to hurt her father by driving a wedge between himself and Grant. New to the cast is Sheik Mahoumad-Bay as Detective Marcus Peyton, a skeptic who doubts Sam's ability to "see" through the eyes of serial killers and their victims, making his first appearance in the episode "Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick." Marcus will remain on the series only until the end of the season. That title is one of many references to Sam's bete noire, the psychotically brilliant and frustratingly elusive multiple murder Jack of All Trades, who killed Sam's husband and apparently will not rest until he adds Sam and everyone else whom she holds dear to his list of victims. The "Jack" throughline permeates virtually every episode this season, especially those spotlighting the killer's protégé, paroled felon Sharon Lescher (Traci Lords), whom he has brainwashed, renamed "Jill of All Trades", and voyeuristically made over in the image of Sam Waters! "Jill" not only goes on her own murder spree copying Jack's modus operandi, but she also succeeds in wiping out Sam's first-season sweetheart, ATF explosives expert "Coop" Cooper (A Martinez). In an effort to help Sam get over this tragedy, her best friend Angel (Erica Gimpel) arranges a reunion of several of Sam's old friends--but even this is marred by a murder, which also launches a disturbing new story arc. Eventually, Sam is able to arrest Jill, wounding Jack in the process. While Jack remains out of sight, Sam has other problems relating to her daughter Cloe (Caitlin Wachs), custody of whom may be taken away from Sam and placed in the hands of her resentful in-laws. In the season's two part finale "Root of All Evil", Sam struggles to come to grips with her personal travails as she sets up trap for Jack using "Jill" as bait--but the results are far from successful! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Season One of the intense crime drama Profiler begins as Bailey Malone (Robert Davi), head of the Atlanta-based Violent Criminal Task Force (VCTF), persuades his former colleague, forensic psychologist Samantha "Sam" Waters (Ally Walker) to come out of retirement and help his organization track down some of America's most heinous (and cleverest) serial killers. Sam possesses the strange ability to "see" through the eyes of both victim and killer at the crime scene, and had once been quite active as an FBI consultant. All this changed when a particularly elusive multiple murderer who called himself Jack of All Trades trumped Ally by murdering her father. Since that time, she has lived in seclusion with her daughter Cloe (played this season by Caitlin Wachs) and her best friend Angel (Erica Gimpel). Even so, Sam agrees to join Bailey's team, which consists of Detectives John Grant (Julian McMahon) and Nathan Brubaker (Michael Whaley), forensic pathologist Grace Alvarez (Romer Maffia), and computer hacker George Fraley (Peter Frechette). As it turns out, Sam's first case with the VCTF agains brings her in contact with Jack of All Trades, who continues to cut a homicidal swath through the country, leaving behind evidence that his ultimate "goal" is Ally herself. In fact, he begins targeting her colleagues, forcing Bailey to set up a trap for Jack using Sam and Grant as bait--a trap that backfires in a near-tragic fashion. Outside of the ubiquitous Jack, Sam tracks down such miscreants as an arsonist called Tony the Wick, a homicidal disciple of I Ching, a pro-eco serial bomber, a latter-day Charlie Manson type, a deranged artist who "arranges" the corpses of victims in the manner of famous paintings, and a vigilante who kills criminals who've evaded capture and then sends tapes of his handiwork to local TV stations. At one point, Sam is kidnapped by an anti-nuclear zealot who intends to kill a lot of people so they'll stop killing a lot of other people! Episodes highlights include "Unsolved Sovreignty", in which Sam is teamed for the first time with her future lover, ATF explosives expert Nick "Coop" Cooper (A Martinez); and "Blue Highways", wherein Bailey's dangerously rebellious 17-year-old daughter Frances (Heather McComb) makes the first of several fractious appearances. The season ends with the two-part cliffhanger "Venom", in which the life of a key member of the VCTF team hangs in the balance, while another team member quits in disgust. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Seventy one year old Tony Curtis headlines this comedy drama as Jack Curtis, who played the title former superhero twenty five years before with his loyal sidekick Tadpole (Arye Gross) fought crimes in syndicated television series. Though the show is dead, Reptile Man remains popular on the promo circuit and so every day, Jack dons the foam rubbery costume as does Lewis, who plays Tadpole. Poor Lewis has been typecast and though, with Jack's help, constantly auditions with little success. It doesn't help that spot-light hogging Jack is verbally abusing Lewis. One day, Jack takes his role a little too seriously and in costume attempts to stop a convenience store robbery. While recovering in the hospital, Lewis, at the urging of Ellie his wife, steps up his attempts. Again he fails. Then one day he learns the reason why: apparently, jealous Jack has not been as helpful as he seemed. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Director Andrew Davis followed up the action blockbuster The Fugitive (1993) with this Capra-esque box office dud that nevertheless featured engaging dual performances by Andy Garcia. Garcia stars as Ruben and Robby, twin brothers who were raised separately and have become total opposites. Ruben has recently inherited a 40,000-acre Santa Barbara estate from his eccentric guardian, Mona (Holland Taylor). A friend to artisans and migrant workers, Ruben wants to transform the land into a commune, while the cold-hearted Robby wants to steal it from his brother, develop it and make millions. Muddying the waters are Lou (Alan Arkin), a quick-thinking ex-cop and pal of Ruben's who is able to manipulate the law to his own purposes, Eddie (Joe Pantoliano), a shark lawyer who plays both sides against the middle, and Ruben's ex-wife Laura (Rachel Ticotin). When each brother masquerades as the other for a time, however, some insights are gained by both. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

The Houston, Texas police department is thrown into an uproar when someone discovers a bag full of severed human hands. Each one has a different number tattooed on the palm and the police suspect a serial killer. Things take an even stranger turn when they enlist the aid of an unusual boy with telepathic powers. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Emil Saber (Peter O'Toole) travels to Jerusalem to seek the seventh coin of King Herod to complete his collection. As Saber searches for the coins, he becomes more and more unhinged, eventually believing that he is the murderous incarnation of King Herod. When he discovers that the coin is in the possession of two youngsters, American tourist Ronnie (Alexandra Powers) and pickpocket Salim (Navin Chowdhry), the two must struggle to avoid becoming Saber's next victims. ~ Iotis Erlewine, All Movie Guide

Eye of the Storm is the eerie and tragic story of two brothers haunted by their past. Steven (Bradley Gregg) witnesses the murder of his parents by robbers. Running from the killers, Steven falls from a window and is blinded. Ten years later, Steven and his brother Ray (Craig Sheffer) are managing the motel, that was owned by their parents. Marvin (Dennis Hopper), a drunken redneck, and his gum-chewing wife Sandra (Lara Flynn Boyle) check in with tragic results for all as their lives become entwined. Despite many implausible plot twists, director Yuri Zeltser puts all this together to produce a compelling thriller and gets strong performances from his cast, particularly Gregg, who is very convincing and poignant as the blind, younger brother. Eye of the Storm, given a theatrical release in Germany but released straight to video in the United States, is a small, well-made thriller, well-worth viewing. ~ Linda Rasmussen, All Movie Guide

All poor JD wants to do during his weekend military furlough is get laid; unfortunately for him, it isn't as easy as it sounds. This raw but funny comedy follows his efforts. The story was filmed on a low budget in black and white on location in Long Island. JD is only 19 and still has a lot to learn about love-making and women. Lots of people try to help him, including Kevin his brother and his best pal Gordon, who has just become engaged. Unfortunately, things just don't go right. First JD tries to see his girl friend, but she is ticked off because he didn't call before coming over. He then tries to get lucky with 11 other girls and each time something goes wrong and he ends up as frustrated as ever. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

William Katt, Catherine Oxenberg and Nia Peeples star in this comedy about an advertising agency who are about to lose their biggest client, the Saltaire Swimwear Company, until they come up with a brilliant idea -- create a swimsuit model talent search. Saltaire loves the idea and the media eats it up, but the contestants prove to be more trouble than anyone expected. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
