In this politically charged drama, two young agriculturalists have returned to their home village to try and bring about positive changes in the ways local farmers do things. One has seen how it is done on U.S. farms; for years he was an illegal farmhand there. The other has been studying agronomy in college. Unfortunately, they are strenuously opposed by the big landowner in the region, who has gone unopposed while exploiting the little farmers for as long as anyone can remember. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

A woman who once endured years of exploitation and abuse builds an impenetrable emotional wall as a means of protecting herself from further emotional damage in a deeply personal psychological drama starring Beatriz Adriana. There was a time when Rosalba was the victim, but these days the once-fragile girl is better known as "la Coyota" for her icy demeanor. A confident, independent, and irresistibly attractive woman, Rosalba has constructed a barrier designed to shield her heart from the pains of the past. Upon striking up a relationship with the kindly Dr. Fuentes, however, Rosalba slowly begins to suspect that despite her questionable past she may still have the capacity to love again after all. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This clumsily made action drama is about the exploitation of hopeful innocents who allow themselves to be lured into what seems like a job from heaven, which will allow them to feed their families with their farm labor without ever leaving Mexico. Instead, they find themselves imprisoned as slave laborers in a marijuana farm, watched over by machine-gun-toting guards. Eventually, a newspaper reporter uncovers the drug ring, and the surviving laborers are freed. Based on an incident reported in Mexican papers, numerous continuity flaws and production errors (such as perpetually clean, new clothes for the farm laborers) led reviewers to a harsh assessment of this movie. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

This action film is about drug dealers whose personalities are not that different than the police officers and narcotics agents out to get them. Yet the message, delivered repeatedly, is that drugs are bad and dealing in drugs is worse. Chief drug boss Ernesto Castro (Sergio Goyri) and his minions are the objects of one car chase after another, alternating with shoot-outs on a regular basis. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

In this Spanish-made, fact based drama, a group of illegal aliens (Roberto Guzman, Ana De Sade and Juan Valentin) try to cross the American border and end up lost in the desert. Despite its low production values, bad direction and unknown cast, Arizona manages to create some suspense and empathy for the plight of the men who are trying to better their lives. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi
