This jammin' documentary is for those who still believe that all reggae music sounds the same. With no narration, explanation of the philosphies behind reggae or Rasafarianism, and no titles to announce the acts the film is nothing more or less than a series of live concert clips from some of the world's hottest reggae artists as they perform at festivals in Australia, Jamaica, Japan and the US. Featured artists come from reggae sub-genres ranging from lovers-rock to dance hall and include Ziggy Marley, Burning Spear, Beres Hammond, Carlene Davis, Yami Bolo, the late Garnett Silk, Shaggy, Shinehead, Buju Banton and more. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
Various artists perform on stage at the 1982 Jamaican Annual Montego Bay Outdoor Reggae-Fest, including Aswad ("African Children"), Chalice ("Road Block"), and Steel Pulse ("Blues Dance Raid"). ~ Rovi
This music documentary presents 30 different performances nonstop, featuring both well-known and lesser-known bands with names that sound like they were picked at random from words thrown into a salad bowl and then mixed at high speed: Pere Ubu, XTC, Wall of Voodoo, Oingo Boingo, Steel Pulse, Surf Punks, 999, UB40, Echo and the Bunnymen, and so forth. The sounds recorded on this documentary are as varied as the names of the bands, and so there is something for everyone here -- at least, everyone enthralled by music as boisterous and eccentric (in some cases) as the nomenclature of the groups themselves. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Rock to the reggae sounds of musicians Black Uhuru and Steel Pulse in this concert tribute to Bob Marley. ~ Rovi
"Steppin' Out," "Blues Dance Band" and "Soldiers" are among the songs performed. ~ Rovi
Renowned British reggae act Steel Pulse performs in this early-'90s concert film. Along with being one of the band's few U.K. shows from the era, the concert also marks the final performance by percussionist Alphonso Martin. Among the ten songs featured in Steel Pulse: Live Legends are "Steppin' Out," "Blues Dance Raid," "Said You Was an Angel," "State of Emergency," and "Taxi Driver." ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
