Laura Gordon Movies

Lithe, sandy blonde-haired Australian actress Laura Gordon placed an equal emphasis, occupationally, on film, television, and theater. Theatrically, she received extensive training and professional experience at venues including the Australian Shakespeare Company and the Redsitch Actors' Theater in productions including The House of Bernarda Alba, The Year of the Family, Some Voices, and A Midsummer Night's Dream, while television work focused (at least in the beginning) on Aussie series. Like many a Hollywood ingénue, Gordon broke into American cinema as a scream queen; her first two major projects were the gorefest Saw V (2008) and the horror comedy remake Piranha 3-D (2009). ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) might be dead, but his traps live on in this fifth Saw entry, which finds the series' production designer David Hackl at the helm for his debut directing gig. Costas Mandylor reprises his role as Hoffman, the detective whose involvement in the string of grisly murders turns out to be more than meets the eye. Picking up where the fourth entry left off, Hoffman is revealed to be a hidden accomplice in Jigsaw's grisly games of death, which look to be continued by the lawman. The plot bounces back and forth from the beginning of their relationship to the present, as Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) delves farther into the case. Also in the cast are Dexter's Julie Benz and One Missed Call's Meagan Good as victims of another one of Jigsaw's lessons in morality. Saw IV scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan return to pen the screenplay for the Twisted Pictures/Lionsgate co-production. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

A couple living in Melbourne's bayside inner-city and hooked on heroin resorts to drastic measures in order to fend off sobriety in director and co-screenwriter Alkinos Tsilimidos' bleak addiction drama. Look up the word "hopeless" in the dictionary and it would come as no surprise if the definition was accompanied by a picture of Jay (Nick Barkla) and Em (Laura Gordon). A pair who isn't above performing sexual acts to fund a fix, Jay and Em share a dilapidated apartment and constantly seem to be on the edge of overdose. Eventually, when normal means of raising money fails, the desperate drug addicts determine to fund their addiction by resorting to armed robbery. Though Em views the dangerous endeavor as a means of forming a stronger connection with her dazed lover, Jay seems more taken by the power that comes with wielding a deadly weapon. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
