Edi Gathegi Movies
Kenyan-born actor Edi Gathegi grew up in California, close to the bright lights of Hollywood, but his own interest in the spotlight would take years to germinate. When Gathegi enrolled in classes at UC Santa Barbara, he was primarily interested in basketball, but when a knee injury put a hold on his athletic interests, he signed up for an acting class on a whim. He was amazed to discover an instant love for the craft and soon decided to pursue acting full force, enrolling at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University to learn all he could. He soon began a professional acting career in theater, appearing in several classics like Cyrano de Bergerac and A Midsummer Night's Dream. He eventually made his screen debut with the role of the Hatian cab driver in the 2006 film Crank, a role that led to a second career on the screen for Gathegi, appearing in movies like 2007's Gone Baby Gone and on the medical drama House, where he played Dr. Jeffrey Cole. A psychopathic miner terrorizes the town of Harmony in this retelling of one of the most underrated slasher films of the early '80s with My Bloody Valentine 3-D. 10-years ago, the lone survivor of an accident deep in the mines awoke from a coma and slashed his way through the town in a bloody, vengeance-fueled rampage. Though shot and apparently killed, the memories of Harry Warden still haunt both the town and Tom Hanniger (Jensen Ackles), the heir to the mine and one of the last people to see Harry before his disappearance. Just as Tom heads back to his hometown after a long time away, so do the killings ramp up again. While he mends his torn relationship with his ex-girlfriend Sarah (Jaime King) and her husband Axl (Kerr Smith), citizens are knocked off one by one in spectacularly gruesome fashion (all presented in 3-D). When Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) reluctantly moved to the perpetually overcast town of Forks, WA, and set out to carve a niche for herself, she assumed it would be one similar to the low-profile social position she held back in Phoenix. First on the list of surprises was the unfamiliar attention from the male population of her new high school; second, the attention from one male in particular: Edward Cullen, Vampire (Robert Pattinson). Before long, the unlikely soul mates find themselves in a passionate relationship with a variety of significant setbacks, including Edward's special-needs diet (he doesn't eat humans, but Bella's scent inspires a nearly impossible to harness bloodlust) and the human girl's mortality. Though things proceed relatively smoothly at first (Edward even introduces Bella to his adoptive vampire family), a visiting vampire clan consisting of James (Cam Gigandet), Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), and Laurent (Edi Gathegi) catches Bella's unique scent and threatens the young couple's budding, if dangerous, happiness. James, known for his powerful tracking ability, becomes obsessed with making Bella his next victim. During his fourth season, the dyspeptic medical detective (Hugh Laurie) is consumed by his search for a new team of associates to replace Foreman and Cameron (Omar Epps, Jennifer Morrison), who quit on him, and Chase (Jesse Spencer), whom he fired. The winnowing process begins with an unmanageable 40 applicants, so House gives them numbers and behaves like Simon Cowell, MD: firing people arbitrarily (by where they are sitting, at one point) and ordering others to wash his car. Eventually, he narrows the field to Jeffrey Cole (Edi Gathegi), Amber Volakis (Anne Dudek), Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson), Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn) and "Thirteen" (Olivia Wilde). He also hires a CIA doctor (Michael Michele) who doesn't want the job---only to fire her when she reconsiders. House dismisses Cole and Volakis (also known as "cutthroat bitch") as well, but she doesn't go away. Instead, she starts a relationship with Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard). Meanwhile, House's sexually tense love-hate relationship with Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) intensifies, and Foreman, Cameron and Chase all return to Princeton/Plainsboro, although only Foreman returns to House's team. And through it all, House continues to perform his unique brand of medicine. In one episode, he diagnoses a psychiatrist (Mira Sorvino) who is stranded in an Antarctic research station via Webcam. Ben Affleck's adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel Gone, Baby, Gone stars Casey Affleck as Patrick Kenzie, a private investigator from working-class Boston who takes on a case involving a kidnapped girl. The girl's aunt begs Patrick to take the case because he has connections to criminal Boston that the police do not. He agrees and along with his partner, Angie Gennaro (Michelle Monaghan), they uncover a web of corruption that threatens the relationship between the two. Part vigilante drama and part psychological thriller, the James Wan-directed Death Sentence stars Kevin Bacon as Nick Hume, a deceptively passive exec whose wife and children are attacked in a sadistic, gang-related hazing rite, and his oldest son killed. Hell-bent on cold-blooded vengeance, Hume pulls a Bronson by tagging each of the perpetrators, then tracking down and rubbing out each one, with the help of formidable, blue-steel artillery.
