In this complex drama, the turbulent lives of ordinary women and men in Mexico are portrayed. One story focuses on the relationship between a troubled youth and his mother, which improves only when he is arrested for manslaughter. In another, the wife of a macho nut who demands that she produce a child as a demonstration of his manhood commits adultery in order to accomplish this objective. Juana's story is only one among many in this somewhat confusing film. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

Pedro Infante, Alfonso Zayas, and Angelica Chain star in a hilarious Spanish-language send-up of the police training system inspired by the American Police Academy series. When a pair of bored, bumbling cops (Luis de Alba and Tun Tun) decide to create a police academy, the steady stream of moronic incompetents who enroll come off more like court jesters than serious-minded authority figures. As the time comes for one of the students to take his first case - the investigation of a cheating wife - the chaos that follows threatens to tarnish the image of the academy and forever change the way locals look at law enforcement. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

In this over-the-top comedy from Mexico, Tun Tun and Alfonso Zayas play a pair of good friends who go into business for themselves when Tun Tun wins big in a bet on a sporting match. The two buy a bar that, in addition to dispensing drinks, also serves as a clearinghouse for gigolos offering lonely women romance in exchange for money. Zayas, who has always considered himself a top ladies' man, eagerly steps in as the club's new bartender and leading male escort, but he soon finds that his clientele is largely made up of alcoholics, aging old maids, women with medical conditions, and even a few cross-dressing men. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

One of the more offensive, poorly scripted "comedies" to come out of Mexico in any era, the "hot Mexicans" of the title are sexually fixated men who either rape women, commit incest, practice adultery, or otherwise engage in supposedly comic expressions of their sexual urges. Roberto (Alfonso Zayas) is such an "accomplished" rapist that no victim presses charges against him and he symbolizes the ultimate goal for the rest of the men he knows. Next time, director and co-scripter (Gilberto Martinez-Solares) should aim a little higher, which should not be difficult at all. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
