A resourceful teenage super-sleuth finds her investigative skills put to the ultimate test as director Andrew Fleming and screenwriter Tiffany Paulsen revive the character originally made famous by author Carolyn Keene. Upon leaving her quaint hometown of River Heights and arriving in Los Angeles with her father, Carson (Tate Donovan), precocious small-town teen Nancy Drew (Emma Roberts) enrolls in Hollywood High and discovers just how different life on the West Coast really is. A true original in the land where Rodeo Drive dictates what's "in" at any given moment, Nancy stands apart from the pack as much for her penny loafers as for her sincere, non-acerbic attitude and keen study skills -- all of which make the non-ironic goody two-shoes an object of scorn for fashion-conscious mean girls Inga (Daniella Monet) and Trish (Kelly Vitz). Concerns about how to fit in soon take a back seat to more pressing issues, however, when Nancy, having previously promised her worried father that she would give up sleuthing, stumbles across a series of clues that may lead her to find out what caused the death of beautiful Hollywood movie star Dehlia Draycott -- who perished years ago under particularly mysterious circumstances. Danger comes in pairs in this gruesome horror story. Kate (Margo Harshman), Zack (Greg Cipes), Ashley (Kelly Vitz), Riff (Artie Baxter) and Vicky (Carrie Finklea) are five college students who are heading out together for a spring break camping trip. Hoping to add some excitement to the proceedings, they set up camp at the Heathers, a remote wooded location where a notorious murder took place years before. Legend has it a young boy killed his parents and beat his twin brother into a state of severe brain damage in the Heathers, but the students, attracted to the spooky ambience, don't imagine any real danger still lurks in the forest. En route, the kids stop for supplies at a ramshackle general store, where they meet Stanley (Crispin Glover), an eccentric shopkeeper with a mentally feeble brother, Simon (also played by Glover). What they kids don't realize until it's too late is that Stanley is the murderous youngster of legend, and with the help of Simon, he's still in the business of murdering strangers when the opportunity presents itself. An ordinary teenager finds out he's not so ordinary after all in this comedy-adventure. Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) has his share of anxieties about starting high school, but once he arrives on campus, he discovers he's attending Sky High, a special learning facility for the children of superheroes. Will realizes his father is actually super-human crime fighter Captain Stronghold (Kurt Russell), while his mom is fellow champion Josie Jetstream (Kelly Preston). However, in Will's first few days at school, Coach Boomer (Bruce Campbell) is unable to discover any superior abilities in him, meaning that instead of joining the school's budding heroes, he's been relegated to the ranks of the lowly sidekicks. In time, Will discovers he happens to have super strength after all, but will he learn to hone his new gifts in time to fend off the bullies at school, get the girl of his dreams, and save his folks from a longtime nemesis?
