Lee Majors Movies
A football star at Eastern Kentucky State College, Lee Majors came to Los Angeles armed with a physical education degree and possessed with a vague desire to break into films. He worked as a park recreation director for the City of Los Angeles before entering show business in 1963. Majors was promoted as "the New James Dean," though he personally aspired to become a new Steve McQueen or Paul Newman (he also retained his permit to work as a recreation director, just in case the world wasn't holding its breath for a new Dean, McQueen or Newman). Majors achieved stardom on his own merits in a variety of television series, the most recent of which was 1992's Raven. His best-known TV roles included Heath Barkley on The Big Valley (1965-69), bionic Steve Austin on The Six Million Dollar Man (1973-78) and stunt man Colt Seavers on The Fall Guy (1981-86). In addition, he has headlined a number of made-for-TV movies, essaying the old Gary Cooper part in the 1991 sequel to High Noon and portraying U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers in a 1976 biopic. Mr. Show alumnus Bob Odenkirk directed -- and SNL vet Will Forte scripted -- this gleefully raunchy tale of two socially backward but kind-hearted adult brothers, Dean and John Solomon (Forte and Will Arnett), who had the misfortune to be home-schooled by their father at a remote Arctic outpost. An epic-Western in the grand tradition, the made-for-cable The Trail to Hope Rose stars Lou Diamond Phillips as Keenan Deerfield, a half-Indian outlaw just released from prison. Determined to start life anew, Keenan takes a grueling rock-mining job in a town controlled by the odious Driggers family, headed by flint-eyed patriarch Samuel Drigger (Warren Stevens), with the coldblooded Gerald Rutledge (Richard Tyson) as the family's chief henchman. Keenan's fellow workers are treated like slaves and forced to live in squalor, but none dare complain lest they meet with one of the many convient "accidents" that have befallen anyone who dares stand up to the Driggers. With stoic fortitude, Keenan waits for the right moment to strike a blow for justice, benefiting from the moral support of the town's honest but ineffectual Marshal Toll (Lee Majors) and good-natured farmer Eugene Lawson (Ernest Borgnine). The plot thickens when Keenan falls in love with Gerald's "woman," the pregnant Christine Beckford (Marina Black), and when one of Keenan's past associates, A.J. Foster (David Shackelford), rides into town intent upon stealing the Drigger mine's payroll. The rather endearing old-fashioned quality of the film is enhanced by the location-shooting at the Paramount Ranch, a reconstructed western town in Agoura, CA. John Travolta's brother Joey Travolta directs the family-oriented adventure Arizona Summer. Lee Majors leads the adult cast as Mr. Travers, a guy who runs a ranch-style summer camp in Arizona. Gemini Barnett stars as Brent Butler, a young troublemaker at his first year of camp, along with other campers Brandon (David Henrie from The Pitts) and Scott (Bug Hall from the 1994 film The Little Rascals). Brent's parents are played by Greg Evigan (from My Two Dads) and Morgan Fairchild. Former co-stars of the TV sitcom Head of the Class teamed up to write the story and script for this teen comedy. When junior high-school student Jason Shepherd (Frankie Muniz) realizes that his class paper has been ripped off and turned into a hit motion picture called "Big Fat Liar," he takes matters into his own hands. Along with his best friend, Kaylee (Amanda Bynes), Jason travels to Los Angeles, where he intends to confront Hollywood big shot Marty Wolf (Paul Giamatti), the sleazy producer responsible for ripping him off. When he's unable to get Wolf to do the right thing, Jason subjects the showbiz power broker to a series of humiliating pranks and stunts designed to make an honest man out of him. Lee Majors, Alison Eastwood, and Derek Hamilton star in writer/director Joey Travolta's supernatural story of a murdered father who returns from the afterlife in order to save his son from meeting a similarly grim demise. Sixty year old family man Bucko Cassidy (Lee Majors) has just been murdered for refusing to sell his homestead, and now it's looking as if his son Junior (Hamilton) is next on the list to die. Upon returning to Earth in spirit form to help his son, Bucko discovers that not only has Junior incurred the wrath of soma particularly dangerous men, but that his marriage to Ellie Rachel Wilson) is in dire straits as well. Should the marriage collapse, Junior will be forced to sell both his house and the family junkyard in order to satisfy the divorce settlement. It's only been six months since Junior buried Bucko, and lately the weight of the loss combined with the stress of his failing marriage is taking a heavy toll on him. Thankfully, despite the fact that there's some serious paperwork to be filled out before Bucko can truly return to Earth, he's been granted permission to temporarily come back in spirit form. But Junior is the only person who can see or hear Bucko, and now his friends and family are convinced that he's finally lost his marbles. Four wacky guys take on a pack of rich stuffed shirts (does this premise sound at all familiar?) in this broad comedy. Rick (Jason London) is a slobby but good-natured snowboarder who is mending a broken heart after splitting up with Anna (Caroline Dhavernas), a girl he met while on vacation in Mexico. Rick has headed back to Bull Mountain, AK, where he and his buddies Luke (Zach Galifianakis), Anthony (Flex Alexander), and Pig Pen (Derek Hamilton) spend their days riding the slopes and their nights partying hard. Rick and his pals hope to someday open a hangout for fellow boarders, but after Papa Muntz, the city's founder and largest landowner, passes on, his son Ted (Willie Garson) sells most of his property to John Majors (Lee Majors), a wealthy but pompous developer who wants to convert Bull Mountain into Snownook, an upscale ski resort catering to yuppies. Determined to keep Bull Mountain safe for like-minded burnouts and radical skiers, Rick and the gang declare war against Majors and his associates, though Rick feels a bit conflicted by the fact that John is Anna's father -- and his daughter is tagging along with her father as he relocates to Alaska. Anna, however, has a rival for Rick's attention, as Jenny (A.J. Cook), a cute ski bum, has shown her interest in him. In this randier-than-usual teen comedy, Brad (Will Friedle) is madly in love with Brooke (Marley Shelton), but she happens to have a boyfriend who is a star on the school football team. Brad's best friend Leah (Jennifer Love Hewitt) doesn't think much of Brooke or Brad's interest in her, but this is largely because she's secretly in love with him and wishes he felt the same way. Brooke is having problems with her boyfriend and decides she wants to make him jealous, so while Brad and Brooke are studying together, she tells him she'd be more than happy to have sex with him that night. Good news for Brad, but there's one small problem -- Brad doesn't happen to have any condoms, and as the evening wears on, he has a harder time finding some protection than any man since the dawn of time. Leah, of course, is heartbroken -- as much as she wants Brad to get what he wants, she knows that Brooke is merely using him, and would never give him the love she feels for him.
