Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu mounted Leoš Janá?ek's three-act 1904 opera Jen?fa in 2005, as a production of the Hamburgische Staatsoper, directed for the stage by Olivier Tambosi; that production appears in its entirety in this release. It co-stars Victoria Cortez as Sta?enka Buryjovka, Jorma Silvasti as Laca Kleme?, Pär Lindskog as Števa Buryja, Eva Marton as Kostelni?ka Buryjovka, and Nina Stemme as Jen?fa. The Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu lends musical accompaniment, with Peter Schneider conducting and José Luis Basso serving as chorus master.
