With Marilyn looking to get her revenge and Miles finding himself attracted to her, the two engage in a ruthless romantic pursuit to out-swindle each other. On the wild desert planet of Oblivion, a man called Sweeny comes to search for a corporate saboteur. Though deceptively dressed as a greenhorn city dude, Sweeny is the most effective bounty hunter in the galaxy. He stays in the town where she (he knows nothing about her) is supposed to reside. He finds plenty of suspicious women and even gets romantically involved with the widow Mattie Chase, stealing her away from her steady beau Marshal Adams. A man discovers that what he doesn't know can hurt him, especially when it comes to his wife, in this suspense drama. Ray Reardon (James Spader) is an architect who has just gone through a messy divorce; while his friends sing the praises of the single life, Ray would prefer to settle into a life of middle-class domesticity with a home, wife, and family. Ray meets a beautiful but mysterious woman named Lena (Madchen Amick) at a party, and for him it's love at first sight; while she remains elusive, Ray pursues her avidly, and before long he proposes, even though he doesn't know her especially well. A few years later, they're seemingly happily married with children. But Lena's behavior starts to become erratic and depressive, and she is no longer willing to account for where she's been or what she's been doing. Ray is convinced that Lena has been having an affair and begins doing some research into her past; he soon discovers her previous life bears little resemblance to what she told him and that she's been lying to him about nearly every part of her history and their relationship. Lena contends that she's just "a regular screwed-up person," but in time, Ray realizes that there's a purpose behind her duplicity: she's trying to convince people that he is insane. What do you get when you combine a Western with a Science Fiction film? You might get this shoot'em up in space. It is set in the distant town of Oblivion (it was actually filmed in Romania). Though it's a high tech town, it has the feel of an old fashioned Western outpost from the 1800's. The town is being terrorized by the snakelike, power-mad Redeye who is also out for the contents of local mines. He shoots the sheriff and disarms Stell Barr, his cyborg deputy. Enter Zack Stone, son of the late Sheriff Stone. Zack is of a rare breed, the empaths. Because he feels the pain of others, he walks a path of non-violence. Can he remain pacifistic in the face of Redeye's terrifying reign? ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

All of Maggie's hard work as wife and mother seems to have paid off when she is chosen as "Working Mother of the Year." Alas, on the evening of the awards banquet, Maggie (Joanna Kerns) is swamped with extra duties that prevent showing up to make her speech. This is one of those classic "Everything Goes Wrong Big-Time" episodes which fans of Growing Pains have come to know and adore--and as a bonus, there's a guest appearance by Jane Kean, the immortal "Trixie Norton" from the 1960s version of The Honeymooners. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

He uses the basement of General Hospital for his experiments to create what he hopes will be the perfect human. Kathy Shower plays the female psychiatrist Alice Singleton, with Irwin Keyes as the monster. This one is so bad it's good, and Leonard Maltin's searing critical indictment makes it a must-see. It has been called the worst English language Frankenstein film ever made, elevating it to near cult status. Bobby "Boris" Picket appears and reprises his smash Halloween hit The Monster Mash. Charles Bronson, weary and comatose, is trotted out again as the cocked crusader Paul Kersey in Death Wish 4: The Crackdown. Director Michael Winner has jumped ship for this installment, replaced by J. Lee Thompson (who has seen better days). Kersey is back in L.A. and dating attractive reporter Karen Sheldon (Kay Lenz). Of course, the clock is ticking, and the gong goes off when Karen's daughter overdoses on crack. Before you can say "kaboom" the drug dealer, along with a large cast of bit players, are blown to bits by the single-minded vigilante. An enterprising publisher whose own daughter has died from a drug overdose hires Kersey to wipe out the city's two rival drug dealers and their legions of flunkies. Kersey has no trouble agreeing, and using the technique limned in Yojimbo, he methodically eliminates gang members, first from one side and then the other, until one gang's paranoia about the other gang causes the two competitors to engage in a major confrontation that impacts both groups. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

April (Michelle Meyrink) is a hot item who causes her boyfriends to spontaneously combust in the heat of passion in this low-budget comedy. Her childhood sweetheart Andy (William O'Leary) is the one who usually gets burned and doesn't believe the warning given by April's mom (Barbara Harris). The involuntary curse gives April several opportunities to burn up the big screen with a sizzling sample of laughs. Made in Lawrence, Kansas with an estimated production cost of a million dollars, this film marks the directorial debut for Chuck Martinez. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

Once again, the Jeffersons' middle-aged "foster son," Jimmy Townsend (Garrett Morris), is in a heap of trouble. Showing up at the Jefferson apartment with 50,000 dollars' worth of casino gambling chips, Jimmy tells George (Sherman Hemsley) that he won them fair and square. But that's not the same story provided by a pair of tough gamblers who think they've been hornswoggled by a man named "George Jefferson." The final episode of The Jeffersons' tenth season, "In the Chips" is also the series' only episode in which Isabel Sanford (Louise) does not appear. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
