Aftab Shivdasani Movies

A suave and handsome player of Bollywood roles, Aftab Shivdasani debuted on film as a child actor at the age of 9 as an orphan in 1987's Mr. India. He enjoyed occasional roles in the years that followed, but only peaked in activity during the 2000s. Projects -- which spanned a number of genres including romances, thrillers, and comedies -- included the 2002 Pyaasa, the 2003 Hungama, and the 2006 Ankahee. In the years to follow, Shivdasani signed for a minor role in the flashy musical Om Shanti Om (2007), and one of the leads -- that of writer Guarav -- in the madcap Bollywood ensemble comedy Money Hai Toh Honey Hai (2008). ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Director Sabbir Khan's Incredible Love marks a historic first on two levels: it's the first Bollywood feature to include the presence of a major star (Sylvester Stallone) and the first to be shot at a Hollywood studio (Universal) with an elephantine budget (11 million dollars -- a staggering sum by Indian standards). Headlined by the iconic Bollywood couple Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar, the film tells of an Indian stuntman who realizes the Hollywood career of his dreams but cannot find the love of his life in Southern California. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Love and dreams follow two starry-eyed actors across three decades and two incarnations in this splashy Hindi musical. It's the early '70s, and Om Prakash Makhija (Shah Rukh Khan) is a young would-be actor who has been playing bit parts in Bollywood musicals while looking for his big break. Om's ambition is to become a film star and win the heart of beautiful screen siren Shantipriya (Deepika Padukone), and his pal Pappu (Shreyas Talpade) and his mother, Bela (Kirron Kher), both encourage him not to give up on his dreams. One day, Om meets Shantipriya on a movie set, and he feels as if destiny is finally smiling on him, but when he overhears her having an argument with studio chief Mukesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal), Om senses things are not as they should be. Before Om can decide what to make of his misgivings, the studio burns to the ground, claiming the lives of Om and Shantipriya. Thirty years later, a bit of Om's spirit seems to live on in Om Kapoor (also played by Shah Rukh Khan), a popular film actor with a large ego and a fear of flame who was born the day the old studio burned down. Despite his fame, Om is lonely, at least until he meets Sandhya (also played by Deepika Padukone), a shy but eager would-be actress looking for her chance to become a star. Om Shanti Om was directed and co-written by Farah Khan, who was a top choreographer in the Indian film industry before moving up to the director's chair, and features guest spots from a number of Bollywood's greatest stars, a few appearing in the form of digital recreations taken from films of the '70s. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

All of the men are equally fed up with married life, and they ultimately come to the conclusion that the only way to bring the spark back into their existence is to engage in some extra-marital dabbling and re-team to exchange notes. Complications ensue when policeman Sikander (Ajay Devgan) begins to suspect that matters have escalated from simple adultery to all-out illegal bigamy. Suddenly, the protagonists are faced with two equally intimidating prospects: telling their wives they have been unfaithful or being embroiled in a crime. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

Intertwined lives serve as the springboard to raucous comedy in this lively effort from director Priyadarshan. A seemingly intentionally confusing comedy that layers cliché upon cliché in almost absurdist fashion, the story begins with the introduction of Nadu (Aftab Shivdasani), an aspiring singer who has come to strike it big in Mumbai. Although Nadu is quick to land an apartment, a catch comes when the landlord reveals that she only rents to married couples, a situation that is somewhat remedied when he meets Anjali (Rimi Sen), the village vixen in need of some quick cash and a place to stay. As various colorful characters stumble in and out the picture, it's obvious that things are going to become more complicated than Nadu had anticipated. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
