Tara (Jennifer Tilly) hosts a dinner party. When she discusses the HIV-positive results of her lover's brother, others join in with their opinions on AIDS. Black artist Buzz (T.C. Carson), brought to the party as the date of Vincey (Mitchell Anderson), quickly becomes a twosome with Javi (Eddie Garcia). Megan (Serena Scott Thomas) breaks up with her black lover Sarina (Cynda Williams) after Megan reveals her affair with Sarina's cousin Jered (Billy Wirth). With lesbian, gay, and straight interactions throughout, the film's framework leans toward Schnitzler's La Ronde (1900), as an assortment of characters talk directly into the camera to introduce other characters. Shown at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. ~ Bhob Stewart, Rovi

The crucial turning-point in the life of a 15-year old boy caught up in an extraordinarily dysfunctional family situation is examined in this tragedy. Outwardly, Tim seems normal enough. He is interested in sex and other teenage boy things. But six months ago his mother killed herself and now his father Ben, a policeman in the small town to which they just moved, is expressing his grief by physically and emotionally abusing Tim. He only has one friend in this new town, Eddie, whose mother disapproves of their friendship. When Tim finds an empty summer cottage, he creates a refuge. While exploring the cabin he finds a gun, and a video tape featuring the sexual exploits of Tracy, a teenage girl. Tim is beginning to plot revenge against his mean father when Tracy, hiding out from a recent abortion, suddenly comes to the cottage. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

To some the life of an illegal underground fighter is more than blood and broken bones -- it's a way to support themselves and their families when all other avenues have failed. While the honor of some fighters stands in stark contrast to the callous treatment they receive by the promoters who often view them as little more than dogs set loose in the ring for the sole purpose of turning a profit, the wheel keeps turning, blood is spilled, and ravenous audiences eat up the action, blow by devastating blow. In this look at the harsh realities of the underground fighting scene, viewers are taken into a world where blood and money are forever bonded in an endless cycle of violence. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
