Riki Lindhome Movies
A native of Portville, NY, actress Riki Lindhome attended Syracuse University and moved into professional assignments following graduation, initially with a spate of television roles (usually single or multi-episode guest turns) on series including Gilmore Girls and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Following a small supporting role as Hilary Swank's sister in Clint Eastwood's 2004 Best Picture sleeper Million Dollar Baby (Eastwood and Lindhome reteamed four years later for the period drama Changeling), the up-and-coming actress moved more squarely into teen-oriented work; assignments included the Dane Cook/Kate Hudson romantic comedy My Best Friend's Girl (2008) and the Wes Craven/Sean S. Frankie Dunn (Clint Eastwood) is a veteran boxing trainer who has devoted his life to the ring and has precious little to show for it; his daughter never answers his letters, and a fighter he's groomed into contender status has paid him back by signing with another manager, leaving Frankie high and dry. His best friend and faithful employee Eddie Dupris is a former fighter who Frankie trained. In his last fight, Eddie suffered a severe injury, a fact that brings Frankie great guilt. One day, Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank) enters Frankie's life, as well as his gym, and announces she needs a trainer. Frankie regards her as a dubious prospect, and isn't afraid to tell her why: he doesn't think much of women boxing, she's too old at 31, she lacks experience, and has no technique. However, Maggie sees boxing as the one part of her life that gives her meaning and won't give up easily. Finally won over by her determination, Frankie takes on Maggie, and as she slowly grows into a viable fighter, an emotional bond develops between them. When a tragedy befalls one of the three characters, each comes to a decision that shows how the relationships in the film have changed them. Adapted from a short story by F.X. When Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) goes psychotically ga-ga over an attractive jock named R.J. Brooks (Thad Luckinbill), it's up to school counselor Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to ferret out the origins of her sister's obsessive behavior. As it turns out, Dawn's lust is supernatural in origin, which sends Buffy into slayer mode and the Scoobies on a research mission. Xander (Nicholas Brendon) and Spike (James Marsters) connect with R.J.'s older brother, Lance (Brandon Keener), who, despite his current un-studly countenance, was also quite the high school chick magnet in his day. The Brooks brothers' irresistible sex appeal is soon revealed to be the product of their enchanted wardrobe. Unfortunately, such knowledge is of little help to Buffy, Anya (Emma Caulfield), and even Willow (Alyson Hannigan), all of whom fall madly in love with dreamy R.J. All three women embark on ludicrous missions to impress the boy, unaware that the despondent Dawn has chosen to attempt suicide rather than compete for boys with her super-sis. Xander and Spike come to the rescue, but Dawn's hurt feelings last long after the spell has been broken.
