Throughout his life, physics professor Zach Shefford (Grayson McCouch) has regarded his telekinetic gifts as a curse rather than a blessing. This sentiment is obviously not shared by ruthless Pentagon agent Raymond Addison (Louis Gossett Jr.), who recruits Shefford for a dangerous mission in which his "second sight" talents will be taxed to the utmost. It seems that, back in 1977, Addison had overseen Project Momentum, wherein dozens of telekinetics were brought together ostensibly for the purpose of benefiting mankind. But the project got out of hand when the participants' powers became too powerful and deadly, forcing Addison to kill them all. However, one of the participants, Adrian Geiger (Michael Massee), managed to escape, and is now at large, with a vast telekinetic army at his beck and call. It is Shefford's job to infiltrate Geiger's camp and finish the job that Shefford had started. Upon falling in love with fellow telekinetic Tristen (Nicki Aycox), Shefford finds that his loyalties are wavering -- and begins to suspect that the villains in this particular melodrama may in fact be the heroes, and vice versa. Still unable to contact the missing and now apparently godlike Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), Angel (David Boreanaz) and the crew head to Vegas to enjoy a little R & R and take in pal Lorne's new musical revue. But at the show, their green-skinned, horned friend (Andy Hallett) refuses to acknowledge them -- even as he parlays his psychic power to read the future of anyone who sings for him into a parlor trick for the delighted audience. As it turns out, Lorne is the victim of Lee DeMarco (Clayton Rohner), a casino-owning crook who is forcing Lorne to help him literally steal the futures of any audience members who are set to enjoy fame or fortune. Fred (Amy Acker) disguises herself as one of Lorne's green-skinned backup dancers in an effort to rescue him, but the plan backfires and Angel himself gets his future stolen, reducing the vampire hero to a slot machine-addicted drone. It's only through the power of divine intervention (in the form a little mystical nudge from the far-off Cordy) that reunites Angel with his apocalyptic destiny -- and his fighting prowess. He and the crew head back to Los Angeles, where they find an apparently amnesiac Cordelia waiting for them. The scene is a parking garage, where a defiant Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) takes a stand -- and blocks traffic -- when he feels he's being unjustly charged for a full 20 minutes' parking when he only owes for a few minutes. Refusing to allow anyone to pay the fee for him, Frasier transforms an insignificant molehill into an impassable mountain, much to the dismay of his passenger Niles (David Hyde Pierce). Meanwhile, Roz (Peri Gilpin) makes an unexpected public confession when she subs for Frasier on his radio show. ~ Rovi
