In an episode that was clearly a labor of love for Londonderry-born Touched by an Angel star Roma Downey, Heavenly caseworker Monica (Downey, of course) is assigned to shepherd eight teenagers from Northern Ireland--four Protestants and four Catholics--to America as part of a humanitarian effort called Project Children. It is hoped that, by working together as a team to restore an old Victorian mansion, the youngsters will forget their inbred religious animosities and learn to live in peace and harmony. Monica invests most of her confidence in the unofficial "leaders" of the children, Catholic Tommy (Keith McErlean) and Protestant Rose (Lesley-Ann Shaw). Alas, old prejudices are not so easily overcome, nor are painful memories of the kids' war-torn past--and just when it appears that the project is a success, a devastating tragedy threatens to spark hostilties all over again. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The partnership between Gunn (J. August Richards) and Angel Investigations deepens when the streetwise vampire hunter asks for help in dealing with a demon named Deevak (Alan Shaw), who has begun taking over the criminal underworld in his neighborhood. Angel (David Boreanaz) and the gang accompany Gunn to a meet up with an underworld informant, but the guy chickens out. Later, Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) -- plagued by visions of Gunn in mortal danger and unable to contact Angel or Wesley (Alexis Denisof) -- attempts to save Gunn from the evil Deevak, but ends up in the center of a fracas at a house party plagued by unwanted demonic guests. Eventually, Deevak is revealed to have been the trailing the gang all along, but in disguise. Angel and Wes arrive just in time to assist Cordy and Gunn in a climactic battle. Meanwhile, former client David Nabbit (David Herman -- see "War Zone") gives Angel some financial advice on his acquisition of the Hyperion Hotel (see "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been?") and Angel is plagued by erotic dreams about Darla (Julie Benz), unaware of her recent resurrection or the fact that she is physically present in his room as he slumbers. Originally broadcast October 10, 2000, on the WB network, "First Impressions" marked season two, episode three of the supernatural comedy drama. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi

Things get off to a deceptively light-hearted start as popular professional wrestler Kornberg (Nils Allen Stewart) is brought into the ER with a twisted knee. But the story quickly turns deadly serious when, stuck in the middle of a street riot, Carter (Noah Wyle) is forced to man the wheel of the paramedic ambulance -- and in so doing sparks an even worse situation when he accidentally runs over a youngster. Meanwhile, Carol (Julianna Margulies), still mooning over the departed Ross, receives confirmation of her pregnancy. And Lucy (Kellie Martin) comes face to face with an intransigent Asian family who refuse to let their mother know that she is in dangerously declining health. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The normally docile Diefenbaker is impounded after biting an animal control officer. Can it be that the hard-of-healing wolf is reverting to the wild? Fraser (Paul Gross) hopes not, lest he be forced to destroy his pet. It turns out that the source of Diefenbaker's bad behavior is a pack of stray mutts known around the neighborhood as the Wild Bunch--not to mention a crooked dog catcher who is part of a sinister human conspiracy. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Newly moved to Chicago to take on his duties as Deputy Liason Officer at the Canadian Consulate, RCMP constable Benton Fraser (Paul Gross) leaps right into his erstwhile partnership with Chi-town police detective Ray Vecchio (David Marciano) when the two of them appoint themselves protectors of 12-year-old purse snatcher Willie Lambert (Chris Babers). Having witnessed an armed robbery, Willie now knows too much to stay alive--or at least that's his story. By the time Fraser and Vecchio have confirmed to their satisfaction that the habitual-liar Willie is telling the truth this time out, the crooks are in hot pursuit, leading to a climactic chase through the streets of Chicago in a horse-drawn carriage. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
