With his brooding good looks, well-scrubbed image, and friendly smile, it might seem ironic that actor Luke Goss made his big-budget Hollywood film debut as Nomak, one of the revoltingly menacing Reapers in the vampire-action extravaganza Blade II. Born in London, England, in 1968, Goss spent his early years preparing for a career in music. His childhood dreams would come true soon enough when, at the age of 20, Goss' band Bros spent 16 weeks in the U.K. charts with their hit single "When Will I Be Famous." Since that question had already been answered by the overwhelmingly positive reception of the single both in his homeland and overseas, it would come as no surprise that Bros' debut album Push also topped the international charts and sold 4.5 million albums worldwide. Subsequently releasing two more albums and performing to packed arena crowds throughout Europe, Goss next topped the best-seller lists with his book I Owe You Nothing. It was only a matter of time before Goss began seeking out further venues for his talents, and with his stage debut in the musical Plan Nine From Outer Space (based on Ed Wood's screenplay that spawned the infamous 1958 film of the same name), the successful singer/author began to develop his acting talents. He followed up his successful debut with roles in other musical plays such as What a Feeling and Grease. After branching with appearances on numerous MTV and VH1 specials, Goss made his film debut in 2000 with Two Days, Nine Lives. Ron Perlman returns to the role of the big red BPRD agent in this sequel to 2004's Hellboy, directed once again by Guillermo del Toro and scripted as before in collaboration with original Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. For centuries, an ancient truce has kept the naïve citizens of the human race safe from the horrors of the invisible realm -- but that's all about to change, and fast. A ruthless leader has emerged in the invisible realm, a tyrant just as comfortable walking the surface realm as he is living in the land of fantasy. When this power-mad ruler defies his bloodline to assemble an unstoppable army of fantastical creatures that he will use to wage a supernatural war on humanity, it begins to appear that humankind's days are numbered. But Hellboy (Perlman) isn't about to stand idly by as the planet is purged by a demonic despot, and with a little help from his team at the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, he may just be able to send our otherworldly overlords packing. Of course, Hellboy's pyrokinetic girlfriend, Liz (Selma Blair), is always willing to conjure up an inferno or two when things get desperate, aquatic Abe (Doug Jones) is prepared to dive headlong into any battle, and protoplasmic mystic Johann (voice of Thomas Kretschmann) proves an invaluable companion in times of inter-dimensional conflict. When an unexplained trucking accident knocks out phone lines in the town of Pueblo, New Mexico and blocks the only route out of town, an investigation into the cause of the crash reveals an otherworldly creature that could pose a threat to the entire human race. Awakening from her usual hangover to investigate a herd of cattle that has been mutilated almost beyond recognition, Pueblo Sheriff Annie is summoned to the scene of a mysterious semi accident. Though the only clue as to the identity to the driver is a severed limb, Sheriff Annie does discover a bizarre, crab-like leg stuck in the grill of the scorched tanker. Meanwhile, on another stretch of the same highway, vacationing sisters Ally and Caya stop to pick up a ruggedly handsome ranch hand named Charlie whose car has stalled out miles away from a gas station or repair shop. Upon arriving at the only gas station in Pueblo, the trio is greeted by Nodin and her grandfather and informed that not only are the pumps dry, but that the only route out of town is blocked by the accident as well. Also trapped at the station is traveling salesman Frank, who specializes in synthetic urine. As night draws near Sheriff Annie arrives at the gas station to share her strange find with botany specialist Nodin, who can find no earthly explanation for the unidentified appendage. Later, when Ally decides to pitch in by taking out the trash, she is savagely mauled by a vicious creature that has just torn the patrons of a local bar limb from limb. As the night drags on and the bloodbath continues, the frightened group discovers that their only hope for survival may the very same Native American girl responsible to unleashing the relentless beast in the first place. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Luke Goss and Lance Henrikson star in first time writer/producer/director Brett A. Hart's unforgiving tale of a vengeance pitting a mysterious man with a dark past against a sadistic tormentor intent on pushing his prey to the limits of human endurance. Eddie (Goss) is a family man who had just pulled off the highway for a quick cup of coffee when he was confronted by master manipulator Jimmy (Henrikson). Armed with a high-powered sniper rifle and a pair of walkie-talkies, Jimmy will now force Eddie to take the longest walk of his life. The setting is the Mojave Desert, and Eddie must walk north. Should Eddie turn in any other direction, Jimmy will put a bullet in his brain without hesitation. But this is no ordinary stroll in the sand, because along the way Eddie will be confronted with a series of ambushes and traps designed to wear away at both his dehydrated flesh and increasingly fragile psyche. Les Mayfield directs Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy in the buddy action comedy The Man. Jackson plays ATF agent Derrick Vann. His partner, who it turns out was corrupt, has been killed after a cache of guns were stolen from the ATF office in Detroit. Internal affairs believe Derrick was in on the gun theft, forcing him to go off on his own to bring the bad guys to justice. Dental supply salesman Andy Fiddler (Levy) happens to be in Detroit for a business convention. During the course of figuring out who is responsible for his partner's death, Derrick arrests Andy because of a miscommunication. The living dead set out to settle some old scores in this audacious blend of horror and crime thriller. John Dark (Luke Goss) and his partner, Mort Shade (Kevin Howarth), are a pair of police detectives working the vice squad in a rough-and-tumble dockside neighborhood. After Mort is killed in an altercation with crooks in a refrigerated warehouse, John is startled to see him back on the beat, but it turns out this isn't the same old Mort. The late policeman's body has been possessed by a malevolent and bloodthirsty spirit, but while the demon is looking for blood to keep itself alive, Mort is determined to do away with some of the too-hot-to-touch criminals he'd been chasing with John for years. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
British filmmaker Malcolm Needs writes and directs the gangster film Charlie, based on the real-life case of criminal gang boss Charlie Richardson. During the early '60s, brothers Charlie (Luke Goss) and Eddy (Langley Kirkwood) ruled the criminal underworld of South London. As he rises in power, Charlie finds himself connected with wealthy white South African businessman Richard Waldeck (Leslie Grantham). Charlie eventually starts to get involved with political crimes involving the ANC and gets caught. While on trial in 1966, his gang resorts to the horrific torturing of his enemies. The witnesses who testify against him are cruelly and unusually punished by Charlie's terror gang, leading to Judge Lawton (Antony Carrick) sentencing him to 25 years. Steven Berkoff and Anita Dobson appear as Charlie's parents. Charlie premiered in the U.K. in February of 2004. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide

Hong Kong action star Michelle Yeoh serves as both producer and leading lady for this bit of slam-bang adventure. Kevin Connor directs William Hurt, Donald Sutherland, and Julie Delpy in this adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The film follows the storyline of the book closely. Four years after scoring a box-office touchdown with Blade (1998), actor Wesley Snipes returns to portray the Marvel Comics character again in this sequel that teams him with Mexican horror director Guillermo del Toro. A half-vampire, half-human hybrid, Blade (Snipes) is a merciless vampire hunter bent on destroying the bloodsuckers that feed on humanity. The keys to Blade's success are a serum that allows him to resist the urge for blood and an array of inventive, deadly weapons, both of which were once supplied by his mentor, Whistler (Kris Kristofferson). Since Whistler's death, Blade has relocated to Prague and recruited the pot-smoking slacker Scud (Norman Reedus) to take the place of his father figure, but then he discovers that Whistler's not dead after all: He's been infected with the vampire virus. Reunited with Whistler, Blade is dealt an even bigger surprise: His greatest enemy, vampire leader Damaskinos (Thomas Kretschmann), wants to make peace with him. It seems that the vampires are facing a greater threat than Blade and hope to persuade him to fight the Reapers, a mutated super-race of vampires on a rampage of murder, indiscriminately killing both humans and their fellow bloodsuckers while sucking their victims dry. Blade agrees to a truce and joins the Bloodpack, an elite squad of commandos originally formed to fight Blade himself. Soon, the vampire soldiers discover that the virus responsible for creating their enemies is spreading rapidly and can be traced back to a mysterious "Patient Zero." Zigzag is the directorial debut of screenwriter David S. Goyer (Blade, Blade 2). Based on the well-received debut novel by Landon J. Napoleon, the film tells the story of an autistic teenager, Louis "Zigzag" Fletcher (Sam Jones III). Zigzag is a sensitive and thoughtful boy who retreats into his own mind to escape the harshness of his inner-city life, particularly the abuse of his father (Wesley Snipes). His only friend is Singer (John Leguizamo), his compassionate Big Brother, who gives Louis his nickname, and tells the boy he's imbued with special powers. He's trying to get Zigzag removed from his father's home, and also to teach him to survive. Singer has testicular cancer, and is concerned that he won't always be around when the boy needs him. Zigzag works as a dishwasher in a restaurant owned by the Toad (Oliver Platt), an amusingly caustic Southerner. After Zigzag's father demands 200 dollars for rent, the boy sees Toad opening his office safe, and commits the combination to memory. Later, he takes 9,000 dollars from the safe. When he attempts to give his father the rent, his father takes all the money. When Singer finds out what Zigzag has done, he goes to desperate lengths to get the money back, so he can return it to Toad before Zigzag gets into trouble. As Singer's plan goes awry, this brings the pair into contact with a sleazy loan shark (Luke Goss, who was also in Blade 2) and a kindhearted prostitute (Natasha Lyonne).
