Performer Matt Long emerged as a supporting actor in the mid- to late 2000s. He achieved his most significant break in his early twenties, as one of the titular leads on Thomas Schlamme's critically worshipped -- but audience-ignored -- coming-of-age series drama, Jack & Bobby (2004). That program -- which, despite its title and one of the plot elements, bore only the most tenuous connection to the Kennedy family -- observed the doings of two contemporary young brothers, amid the throes of an upbringing by their hip, pot-smoking single mother (Christine Lahti), and the overarching suggestion that one would go on to run for president in the 2040s. A former small-town golden boy returns to his hometown with his new girlfriend, only to find that his onetime high-school sweetheart isn't willing to let go of the past. In the working-class town where Mike (Matt Long) grew up, football is everything. A few months after leaving for Northwestern University on a scholarship, Mike arrives back home for Christmas break with his pretty new girlfriend, Elizabeth (Jessica Stroup), in tow. Seeing Mike with another woman comes a quite a shock to the people around town; back in high school Mike and his girlfriend Shelby (Mischa Barton) were a fairly hot item, but while Mike has moved on, Shelby has not. After pledging her late mother's once-dignified sorority, a college freshman aligns herself with seven social outcasts in an attempt to influence change over the school's flawed social hierarchy in this comedy starring Amanda Bynes. College freshman Sydney White (Bynes) has just arrived at Southern Atlantic University ready and eager to pledge her late mother's sorority. Once upon a time, this sorority was dignified and respected, but that pristine reputation has been tarnished now that blonde tyrant Rachel (Sara Paxton) has taken over as student council president. After surviving the sorority's vigorous pledging process, Syd is quickly banished for daring to question Rachel's regime. Now left with nowhere to go but a condemned house on the edge of Greek Row, the dejected and rejected pledge quickly makes friends with seven of the biggest social outcasts on campus. But while these socially challenged frat boys may not be much to look at, it gradually becomes apparent to Syd that they all have their fare share of admirable qualities -- especially love-struck super-geek Tyler (Matt Long). Money, deception, and obsession form the basis of this simmering psychological thriller concerning a man who enters into a dangerous extramarital affair, only to find that nobody is who they appear to be. Returning home with his girlfriend in order to attend his father's funeral, Dave Ford is comforted to be back in the company of his former best friends Emily and Brian Nicholson. Back in the day, Dave, Emily, and Brian were inseparable; these days his former friends have married and gotten off to a great start in life. When Emily and Brian offer to help Dave restore his childhood home, the old friends instantly pick up where they left off years ago. Everything is perfect until Emily and Brian's relationship turns suddenly violent and Emily knocks on Dave's door seeking shelter from her abusive husband. Before long, Emily and Dave have entered into a passionate affair, with frequent warnings from another old friend that Emily is not who she appears to be continually falling of deaf ears. In the wake of the attacks on New York City and Washington D.C. on September 11, 2001, many figures in the entertainment community stepped forward to offer their talents to raise money towards relief efforts for the victims and their survivors. On October 20, 2001, some of the biggest names in popular music appeared at New York's Madison Square Garden in a special marathon concert to raise funds, and to pay tribute to the firefighters and police officers who gave their strength, their courage, and in some cases their lives to help the victims of this tragedy. The Concert for New York is a video that documents this historic evening. Musicians include Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bono, and many more. The long list of celebrity presenters includes Rudy Giuliani, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Halle Berry.
