A mentally disturbed girl mistakes a man on the street for the boyfriend who walked out of her life without a sound, only to find out just how deceiving appearances can be in director Oxide Pang's mind-bending psychological thriller. Winnie Leung (Charlene Choi) is a rather plain girl who spends most of her days in her apartment cooking, carving wooden dolls, and waiting quietly alone for her boyfriend, Seth (Shawn Yue), to return. One day, after recording Seth's furtive departure in her diary, Winnie ventures out onto the streets and makes acquaintances with a kind and handsome stranger named Ray (also Yue) after mistaking him for the missing Seth. Later revealing over lunch that Seth had apparently been killed in a tragic car accident, Winnie and Ray form a warm bond, and she eventually invites him to move in with her. As Winnie and Ray gradually begin to grow closer, the parallels between her new relationship with Ray and her old relationship with Seth begin to shed an entirely different light on the events of the recent past. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

The Jackie Chan-headlined action farce Rob-B-Hood concerns Slipper (Chan), a character caught up in a hornet's nest of problems. Raised by poor parents and expelled from school at an early age, Slipper became notorious for his lightning-fast footwork and quick-fingered hijinks, but managed to tally up a massive amount of gambling debt. With no other choice, he accepted his crooked landlord's bid to participate in a series of crazy heists. They paired up with another shady character, Octopus (Louis Koo), and successfully kidnapped BB, a tycoon's grandson, but unforeseen complications led the trio to keep the baby longer than they had originally intended. Now, when the men learn that a triad intends to collect on some unpaid ransom and kill the child in the process, they decide to keep the baby indefinitely, as an unofficial "adopted son," and train him in the ways of burglary. They receive assistance, in this endeavor, from a teenage hanger-on, Pak Yin (Charlene Choi); a nurse named Melody (Gao Yuanyuan); and the landlord's missus, (Teresa Carpio). Suddenly, however, the rollers and the triads begin to close in, and the men must figure out a way to return the baby to his folks. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

A pair of teenage kung fu experts find that their widowed father's far-fetched tales of adventure may hold more water than they thought in this martial arts adventure featuring fight choreography from The Matrix action director Yuen Woo Ping. In his day, Teddy (Anthony Wong) was a force to be reckoned with, but these days most of the aging chiropractor's energies are spent looking after his rebellious son Nicky (Stephen Fung) and his thrill-seeking daughter Natalie (Gillian Chung). Despite the fact that the young pair cringe when their father begins waxing nostalgic about the good old days, what they don't realize is that their father is still fighting the good fight by doing his best to protect other retired agents. When their father is kidnapped by a vengeful nemesis looking to settle a score from the past, Nicky and Natalie jump into action with Natalie's butt-kicking boyfriend Jason (Daniel Wu) to take on the bad guys and ensure that their father has a safe and happy homecoming. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

When Wong (Louis Koo) hears his girlfriend tell him that she wants to break up, he cannot believe his ears. Desperate to find a way to get her back, he turns to the internet where he connects with 19 year old self proclaimed relationship expert Crystal (Charlene Choi). After hearing his story, she instructs him to track down all of his ex-girlfriends and ask them what went wrong in their relationship. Meanwhile, Carrie's sex-obsessed ex-boyfriend (Lau Ching-Wan) is approached by an equally carnal female (Charlene Choi) and is pleased as can be with the exception of one, rather important thing: Tabby (Choi) is way too young for him. Pop duos Twins and Boy'z team up to scare up some laughs from fans in this lightweight horror-comedy from New Blood director Pou-Soi Cheang. After a mysterious millionaire calls his orphaned children to his remote ancestral home under the guise of staging a family reunion, the situation takes an ominous turn when the curious seven are informed that their father died shortly after sending the invitations. Though they are also informed that their father has left them an inheritance of $170 million in addition to a wealth of fruit trees; however, a series of bizarre rituals must be performed before they actually receive their share of the family fortune. In addition to remaining in the labyrinthine estate for seven consecutive days, they must pay respects to the corpse of their deceased father every night in addition to showing their good intentions by hugging one another before they go to bed. As the siblings slowly realize that the house is haunted, it becomes increasingly obvious that winning their inheritance may be a deadly affair. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Lian' Ai Qiyi (Heroes in Love) is a collection of three short films about young love in Hong Kong. All were helmed by first-time directors, who happen to be from Hong Kong themselves. The first short is Kidnap by well-known graphic artist Shya Wing. It is the story of Joe a shy lesbian who falls madly in love a strange woman. In fact, Joe's attraction is so strong that she decides to kidnap the woman and hold her a prisoner at her flat. An inexperienced kidnapper, Joe muddles her way through her first days as jailor, slowly but surely winning her captive's heart. My Beloved is the second short, by two performers, Stephen Fung and Nicholas Tse. A deranged pizza boy named Robin is the main character here, and the story starts on the day he purchases a new handgun called the "Ejaculator". Robin so loves his new weapon that he eats, sleeps, and drinks with it, until finally the gun begins talking to him like a lover. Peppered with references to Taxi Driver, the tale spirals towards a finale in which the gun provokes Robin to prove his love through violence. Og, G! is the third short, by a popular disc jockey known as GC Goo-bi. Two teenagers, Charlene and Lawrence, meet on the Internet. The two get along well despite their mis-matched personalities, Lawrence being an immature slob, and Charlene a dreamer seeking an idealized romantic love. But their platonic relationship blossoms into something more once they decide to meet in the flesh. TBC is an epilogue by producer Jan Lamb which contains interviews with the four directors and outtakes from the shorts. The entire film was the brainchild of Lamb's Emperor Multimedia Group and collaborator PCC Skyhorse Ltd. which joined forced to bring new Hong Kong talents into the spotlight. ~ Connor McMadden, All Movie Guide
