One of those rare musicians able to traverse the boundaries between pop, soul, r&b, funk and jazz with almost seamless fluidity, bass guitarist Chuck Rainey sustains a reputation as a maestro on his particular instrument. Perhaps as a result, his resume includes collaborations with everyone from Paul Simon, to Aretha Franklin, to the late Sam Cooke.
