Henry Richter (Simon Boer) is driving home one night when he sees an attractive woman, Anja Steinberg (Annett Renneberg), standing on the walkway of a bridge. Assuming she's a prostitute, Henry offers her money to come back to his apartment, and she accepts. However, after arriving, Henry realizes that Anja isn't a call girl, but was simply lost in thought when he approached her. Anja begins to panic, and after an attempt to rob Henry, he ties her to a chair, puts a stash of illegal drugs in her purse, and demands she entertain him of he'll turn her over to the police. Desperate to stay out of jail, Anja responds by telling a story, hoping it will be compelling enough to meet Henry's expectations. Directed by Thomas Stiller, Die Wunde ("The Wound") chronicles young Julia's (Alexandra Schalaudek) efforts at revenge against the father she has never met. Robert (Horst-Gunter Marx), a callous business tycoon, had abandoned Julia's mother after an accident which left her bound to a wheelchair, leaving a then-unborn Julia to spend her youth caring for her disabled parent. Eventually, Julia gets a job at a strip club her father has been known to frequent. Along the way, she falls in love with Hendrick (Marek Harloff), without realizing that he is her half-brother. When Hendrik's mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, his father Robert (Marx) left them in the same heartless manner as he had exhibited towards Julia's family. Die Wunde also features Sabine Vitua, Tajana Blacher, Annett Renneberg, Jens Eulenberger, and Mareike Fell.
