His engagement ring stolen just before he was planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend Emma, hapless (but criminally violent) romantic Mike enlists the aid of his four best mates in getting the ring back so he can ask Emma's hand in marriage as planned. Over the course of the next hour, this four-man army will run, fight, and blast their way through the Auckland underworld on a single-minded mission to ensure that Mike's marriage gets off to a proper start. Unfortunately for the thieves - and anyone else who happens to get in the gang's way - quite a few people will die in the process. Shot on steadycam-mounted digital cameras over the course of just five days, You Move You Die utilizes a series of extended takes (some as long as nine minutes) in order to truly immerse the viewer in the action. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Garth Maxwell directed this pansexual drama that intertwines the stories of three very different love affairs. Katie Keen (Rena Owen) returns to New Zealand with her one-woman show, moving in with her homosexual friend Stephen (Simon Prast). Meanwhile, Stephen is in love with lyricist Mark (Dean O'Gorman), and aspiring punk rockers Sally (Sophia Hawthorne) and Fig (Nancy Brunning) become involved with one another. This psychological ping-ponging soon results in cries, whispers and recriminations. Shown at the 1998 Toronto Film Festival. ~ Bhob Stewart, Rovi

Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) is somewhat startled to learn that his mother, Alcmene (Liddy Holloway), has agreed to marry King Jason (Jeffrey Thomas). Even more startling is Jason's willingness to give up his throne to wed a commoner -- and his choice of successor: Hercules himself, who declines the honor in favor of his mortal half-brother Iphicles (Kevin Smith). Meanwhile, the evil Patronius (Simon Prast), who covets the throne himself, conspires with Hera to sabotage the wedding. The upshot of all this intrigue is the surprise appearance of Perfidia the sea serpent, who puts a damper on the ceremony by swallowing both Hercules and Jason! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Hoping to grab some glory for himself -- and, incidentally, to win the love of the beauteous Rena (Simone Kessell) -- Hercules' mortal half-brother Iphicles (Kevin Smith) steals Hercules' name. Upon linking up with the warlord Gorgus (Kenneth McGregor), Iphicles proceeds to defame his half-sibling's reputation. Determined to clear his name and bring Iphicles to his senses, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) must first rescue his friend, Iolaus (Michael Hurst), from Gorgus' clutches in a booby-trapped labyrinth. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Xena (Lucy Lawless) and Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) rescue an abandoned baby who has been left to drown in a river. The infant is being hunted by the cruel King Gregor (Edward Newborn), out of fear of prophecies that the child will ultimately topple him from his throne. As if doing battle with Gregor isn't hard enough, Xena and Gabrielle must also help the granddaughter (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn) of the infamous Pandora, who must retrieve the equally infamous Pandora's Box, lest it be allowed to unleash havoc upon the world all over again. This is the first Xena episode to close with one of series' trademarked tongue-in-cheek "disclaimers." ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
