A woman who gives advice on relationships for a living is trying to make sense of her own problems with the opposite sex in this independent romantic comedy. Amy (Julie Davis) is a single woman in her mid-twenties who has recently published a self-help book called Why Love Doesn't Work, in which she discusses why a woman doesn't need a husband or a boyfriend to feel fulfilled. But Amy isn't so sure she believes her own advice, and after four years without a steady relationship, she wants a man in her life. Feeling conflicted, Amy isn't sure where to turn or with whom she can discuss her relationship issues; she ends up sharing her problems with a priest (Jeff Cesario) who mans the confessional at a nearby Catholic church, even though Amy is Jewish. As Amy's book hits the stores, Janet (Caroline Aaron), a friend who works as a publicist for her publisher, snags Amy an appearance on a radio show hosted by Matthew Starr (Nick Chinlund), a popular but foul-mouthed "shock jock." Matthew is exactly the sort of man Amy warns her readers to stay away from, so she isn't sure why she finds herself attracted to him -- or why he seems to be interested in her. Amy's Orgasm was written and directed by Julie Davis, who also stars as Amy; the film was enthusiastically received in its screening at the 2001 Santa Barbara Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Michael Keaton stars in this special-effects-heavy Christmas film about a boy who discovers, after his father dies in a car accident, that his dad is still alive in the form of a snowman. Unlike the horror film of the same name, Jack Frost is a children's film designed to warm the soul during a chilly winter season. Think of this film as a live-action version of the children's classic Frosty the Snowman. The story starts with Jack Frost (Michael Keaton), a harmonica-playing blues rocker who spends too much time pursuing his musical career, leaving little time for his wife (Kelly Preston) and son Charlie (Joseph Cross). Feeling guilty for his absence and missing his son's hockey practice, he decides to forego his big audition to spend Christmas with his family. While driving home for the holidays, however, Jack dies in a tragic auto accident. The following Christmas, Jack's son builds a snowman and decorates it with his father's old clothes. When Charlie plays his father's harmonica, Jack Frost returns home in the body of the snowman. Jack has to show Charlie how much he loves him and also has to teach him the ice hockey shot he never got around to when he was alive. Along the way there are snowball fights and sled chases, and Jack finally realizes the great times he was missing with his son. ~ Arthur Borman, Rovi

When Paula (Janeane Garofalo) mentions to Larry (Garry Shandling) that she's been offered a producer's job, the nervous host hastily promotes her to producer in order to keep her on staff. Meanwhile, Phil's (Wallace Langham) writing suffers when he and his girlfriend, Jessica (Jenica Bergere), start fooling around in the office. When Paula steps on Artie's (Rip Torn) toes by trying too hard, Artie walks off the show, leaving the green producer to deal with the touchy subject of Phil and Jessica. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
In this suspense thriller, Mariel Hemingway plays Nova, a television gossip reporter. During a broadcast, she jokingly says that every good-looking man in Los Angeles is gay; a few days later, she's attending a concert by her mother, an aging rock star, and meets an attractive man named Nathan who wants to prove her theory incorrect. Nova and Nathan have a one-night stand, but he mysteriously disappears afterward -- which is particularly upsetting when Nova discovers she's pregnant. Nova decides to keep the baby, but while this would give her plenty to think about by itself, she soon has a lot more on her mind when a mysterious stranger begins murdering her friends, and a stalker begins following her, making her wonder if she could be next to die. Kiss of a Stranger also features Dyan Cannon, David Carradine, and Corbin Bernsen. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Fed up that he has been bumped from the show nine times in a row, comedian Jeff Cesario is somewhat placated by Larry's (Garry Shandling) promise that he will most certainly be on the next show. Complications arise when Artie (Rip Torn) and Larry discover that not only has the next show been booked solid, but Hank's (Jeffrey Tambor) father has died, and the grief-stricken co-host has demanded tribute time on the show. When Artie and Larry decide that a guest must be cut, who will it be? ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Though Larry vehemently refuses to admit that he has a problem, Artie (Rip Torn) and Roseanne stage an intervention after realizing that Larry's (Garry Shandling) addiction to painkillers is spiraling out of control. While Artie and Roseanne hold Larry at home and force him to quit cold turkey, suspicions around the office are aroused when Pat Sajak sits in for Larry during his week-long convalescence. Roseanne forces Larry to come clean with his crew, but their supportive display is spiked with cynicism when Paula (Janeane Garofalo) wins the office pool with her speculation that Larry's absence was drug-related. As Larry returns to the office longing for the company of Roseanne, the two express their feelings for one another over lunch, leading to an unexpected kiss and a proposal from Larry. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
A temporary change threatens to become permanent in the fifth episode of HBO's popular behind-the-scenes late-night talk show satire The Larry Sanders Show. When Larry's (Garry Shandling) friend takes over for faithful producer Artie (Rip Torn) on what was supposed to be a short-term basis, he begins scheming to ensure that Artie won't be coming back. This episode of The Larry Sanders Show features guest appearances by Bill Applebaum, Ian Buchanan, Robert Morton, and Jeff Cesario. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
