One of the most successful bands in rock history, Fleetwood Mac has also had one of the most tumultuous histories of any ensemble. Destiny Rules is a documentary that attempts to capture the band as it was in 2001 when they began work on a new album and then set out to tour in support of the record. The directors were given almost total access to the band during this time period. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

In 1967, Fleetwood Mac was an upstart British blues band featuring hotshot guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer. By 1975, the group was based in California. Green and Spencer were long gone from their lineup, and the addition of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham had given the group a new pop-oriented lease on life. In 1994, Buckingham, Nicks, and Christine McVie were all out of the band, and Fleetwood Mac's future looked shaky at best. Three years later, the lineup of the band that recorded Rumours reunited for a wildly successful concert tour and live album, putting one of the biggest acts of the '70s back on the charts 20 years on. Fleetwood Mac: Unbroken Chain - Unauthorized is a documentary which traces the often difficult path of Fleetwood Mac's career through interviews with experts and acquaintances. Please note this program was created without the participation of Fleetwood Mac and features no music or performances from the group. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Fleetwood Mac became one of the biggest hitmaking bands of the 1970s with the arrival of guitarist, songwriter, and singer Lindsay Buckingham, and when he departed the group in 1987 following the completion of the album Tango in the Night, many questioned if the group would be able to continue. However, the group rallied with the addition of two new guitarists, Rick Vito and Billy Burnette, and the band's subsequent Shake the Cage tour proved Fleetwood Mac was still a powerful live act. Fleetwood Mac: Tango in the Night is a live video that was recorded during the San Francisco stop of the Shake the Cage tour; the band performs 13 songs, including "Everywhere," "Little Lies," "The Chain," "Gold Dust Woman," and "Don't Stop." ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Those who believe great art comes out of conflict can point to an unlikely example in Fleetwood Mac's album Rumours, widely considered their best album and certainly their most popular. While the album was recorded at a time when the band was poised on the verge of their greatest success, the group was in frequent conflict while it was recorded. This edition of Classic Albums examines how Fleetwood Mac created a musical masterpiece in the midst of personal turmoil. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
