A thief discovers that crime runs in the family in this playfully dark comedy from Mexico. Inaki (Daniel Guzman) is a petty thief who makes his way pulling stickups with an elderly partner in crime (Francisco Rabal). The old man dies in the midst of a robbery, which attracts more police attention than Inaki is used to, and he flees to Mexico until things cool down. In Guadalajara, Inaki finds himself crossing paths with Patxi (Kandido Uranga), his father, with whom Inaki hasn't always been on good terms. Patxi and his brother, El Caiman (Rafael Velasco), live in a rooming house run by a cheerful drag queen, Aunt Carmen (Roberto Espejo). Inaki soon moves in as well, and begins dating Aunt Carmen's niece, Anita (Sara Ruiz), which pleases Carmen as he's certain Inaki is going to be a doctor some day. Patxi and El Caiman, however, have a different estimation of Inaki's talents; Caiman knows about his nephew's criminal career, and he'd like Inaki and Patxi to help with a bank robbery he wants to pull, in order to finance the upscale nightclub he's long dreamed of opening. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Two adults look back to their youth and discover how a seemingly minor incident shaped their lives in this drama from Spain. Lucia (Silvia Munt) is a woman in her early forties who moves back to the neighborhood where she grew up, taking over a house her grandparents once owned. To her surprise, she discovers that Juan (Gary Piquer), whom she knew as a teenager, is living across the street in the home where his grandparents once lived, and seeing one another brings back memories of their youth. In 1974, young Juan (Andres Gertudix) and Lucia (Cristina Brondo) are growing up in Madrid as Franco's regime is coming to a close. Juan, from a poor family, is infatuated with Lucia, and when he helps nurse an injured dog back to health, she starts to take an interest in him, though she already has a boyfriend, the wealthy Nacho (Eloy Azorin). Juan asks Lucia to attend a concert with him by Catalan vocalist Joan Manuel Serrat, but on the day of the show, Juan is forced to work late at his job; when he finally arrives at the concert hall, he discovers Lucia has already left to spend the evening with Nacho. Twenty-five years later, Lucia and Juan are both lonely and emotionally isolated, and they wonder how much impact this event had on their later relationships. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Ever wished you could put your life on pause and rewind? Andres (Daniel Guzman), a pot-addled bohemian artist, is having the sort of evening where that would be helpful. He's throwing a dinner party and has invited Monica (Paz Gomez), a woman with whom he's infatuated. Monica, however, brings along a date, a tennis pro named Manu (Enrique Simon), while another of Andres's friends, Belen (Maria Adanez) shows up with her obnoxious boyfriend Pablo (Tristan Ulloa). The party doesn't go terribly well -- food gets burned, things get broken, Pablo makes a scene -- and later in the evening, Andres nearly finds himself regretting that he videotaped the entire evening. However, when he rewinds the tape, much to his surprise he finds he can rewind real life as well, giving him a chance to salvage the party after all. Rewind was the debut feature for Spanish independent filmmaker Nicolas Munoz. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Miranda feuds with lesbian actress Marta Pena (Loles Leon), prompting Marta's companion Soraya (Malena Gustierrez), a "karate artiste," to participate in the variety show.
