Antonio del Real directed this Spanish romantic comedy focusing on ad-agency career girl Lucia (Ana Alvarez) and her best friend, dance teacher Maria (Maria Adanez). Maria's boyfriend is the sexist Pablo (Jorge Sanz). One night Lucia puts away too much alcohol, sleeps with Pablo, and hatches a plan to have Pablo all to herself by finding a new man for Maria. She chooses unemployed actor Antonio (Eduardo Noriega), a handsome guy but not too bright. Since Antonio's brain in Spain is mainly on the wane, Lucia is forced to do a My Fair Lady upgrade on the raw material -- by educating Antonio during several Pygmalion-styled sessions. ~ Bhob Stewart, Rovi

Often referred to as a cousin to Pedro Almodovar or Bigas Luna, Manuel Gomez Pereira has been covering up his sharp social satire behind nice exteriors in his previous five films. No more nice guy, says Pereira, in an erotic tale of sex-o-mania. And with who else but ravishing Victoria Abril in the role of radio show assistant Miranda who just can't get enough! Miranda meets budding screenwriter Javier (Javier Bardem) during a group therapy session for sex addicts. Javier cannot live without regular telephone sex, while Miranda goes out every night in search of quick sexual encounters. They make love in the back of an abandoned car which has a corpse hidden inside its trunk. Miranda's jealous husband is the cop investigating the case.and it soon looks like Javier has been framed. There is quite a bit of Hitchcock here, which is acknowledged by Pereira. But on the whole, the film does not have a strong structure to carry the weight; the sex addiction theme of the first part goes out of focus when several subplots (unidentified corpse, etc.) distract the audience, resulting in a soft porno picture with little plausibility. The redeeming factor is the convincing acting by the sensual Victoria Abril. ~ Gönül Dönmez-Colin, Rovi

Ever wished you could put your life on pause and rewind? Andres (Daniel Guzman), a pot-addled bohemian artist, is having the sort of evening where that would be helpful. He's throwing a dinner party and has invited Monica (Paz Gomez), a woman with whom he's infatuated. Monica, however, brings along a date, a tennis pro named Manu (Enrique Simon), while another of Andres's friends, Belen (Maria Adanez) shows up with her obnoxious boyfriend Pablo (Tristan Ulloa). The party doesn't go terribly well -- food gets burned, things get broken, Pablo makes a scene -- and later in the evening, Andres nearly finds himself regretting that he videotaped the entire evening. However, when he rewinds the tape, much to his surprise he finds he can rewind real life as well, giving him a chance to salvage the party after all. Rewind was the debut feature for Spanish independent filmmaker Nicolas Munoz. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Well-intentioned small-town values run headfirst into corporate determination in Dot.com, director Luís Galvão Teles's offbeat culture clash comedy. The residents of the village known as Águas-Altas harbor only one wish: to register their 800-year-old community on the domain name aguasaltas.com. Unfortunately for them, Águas-Altas also just happens to be the name of a huge multinational Spanish corporation specializing in mineral water - whose proprietors grow so indignant at the online challenge served up by the villagers that they decide to sue the community for use of the name - little foreseeing the outrageous complications that will result. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Georgia (Nia Vardalos) came to Greece to follow a man. A few years later, she's been cast aside -- alone and adrift in a foreign land. Eventually, her passion for history leads her to a job as a tour guide. But Georgia is bored, and has lost her "kefi" (Greek for mojo) to boot. When taciturn sasquatch Poupi (Alexis Georgoulis) replaces the regular driver at the last minute, the frazzled tour guide thinks that her luck has just hit rock bottom. Thankfully, Georgia's latest batch of tourists is a more lively bunch than she's anticipated, and in between bouts with rival tour guide Nico (Alistair McGowan), she manages to form a genuine connection with wisecracking widower Irv (Richard Dreyfuss), a solo vacationer who maintains a jovial facade despite the fact that he misses his late wife dearly. With a little help from Irv, Georgia comes to realize that true love may be closer than she thinks -- if she could just recapture her kefi and open her eyes. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
